Question about 1998 Isuzu Rodeo

1 Answer

Grimlems won't start! won't stay started

Recently my truck has strarted to have problem starting or driving more then 50 ft. (it just shuts down). I checked the battery, fuel filter and tuned it up, even put in a new starter. It seems to have a mind of it's own. Power to system some times (when it feels like it) and then when it feels like it starts right up. Sometimes it will start and continue to run, but try to drive more then 50ft and it shuts off.

Have a 98 bonneville.suddenly started losing antifreeze.than engine light came on blinking.the car shook and shut down.won t start.wondering if i should replace upper intake only.

i would get a compression check done on it,
if compression is fine you can get away with just the intake gasket
if you use dexcool i recommend mixing it 50/50 with distilled water
less chance of it becoming corrosive that way.

if it shuts off while driving and will not start back up for at least 10 minutes, then it may be the crank sensor doing this. is check engine light on! if so get it scanned to find problem code. if no scanner, auto-zone will scan for free. if light is on. CPS symtoms are: car dies and won't re-start till it cools down, or won't start at all. good-day ! crank sensor timing will be out of sync. it controls timing and sends info to pcm.

No fuel through the injectors

You'll need to check your fuel filter, because if it gets clogged up then it won't let any fuel through. You can check it by taking it off and seeing if the gas looks normal or really dirty. These fuel filters are pretty cheap. And see if your fuel pump is working, and make sure that the injectors are spraying, you might also want to get some fuel injector cleaner.
