2006 BMW 3series E90 Outside Temperature sensor.

Hi Guy's, I'm just about to give up when I come across your website. I hope you can help. My outside temperature sensor is constantly reading +50.0 and I am unable to locate the senosr to check or replace it. I have called BMW many times but they are unable to tell me exactly where it is located. I live nearly 200miles from my nearest dealer therefore a rouund trip is out of the question. Any help with locating or replaing replacing would be greatly appreciated

Many thank in advance for your help

Sean

Should be on either side of the car under the bumper in what we call the "porkchop" it is either a round sensor or a long sensor most likely you hit something that damaged the sensor

Where is the outside air temperature sensor located on a 2005 subaru forester

they are mounted to the lower radiator support rail. You have to remove the bumper cover (read plastic outside bumper) to replace them.

2005 Audi A4 temperature reading is way low and it's causing the heat to come on when it's hot outside.

You need to change the outside air temperature sensor. A good diagnostic machine should be able to give the reading to make sure. The sensor is normally located in the drivers side door mirror or behind the front bumper.

Obd-1 code 22

Hi there:
Fault Code 22 - Coolant sensor signal out of range - May have been disconnected to set timing.

Pay attentioon to this possible reasons for Code 22:
- Defective coolant temperature sensor - To check for a defective sensor, use an ohm meter and measure across the pins of the sensor. The sensor is located on the right side of the water box on cars with 2.2 and 2.5 liter engines. For 1986 and later models, at 77 F degrees, the sensor should measure 9,120 ohms to 10,880 ohms.

- Poor wiring or connection - Check the wiring and connections between the sensor and the logic module. Check the harness from the sensor to the computer. Inspect every connector. Clean and re-grease the connectors with dielectric grease. When setting ignition timing it may be necessary to disconnect the sensor from the harness.

Hope this helps.

Temperature display isn't accurate

Hi Dale. Look under the front bumper either on the left or right trim panel. The trim panels are triangle in shape. An outside temp sensor usually sits in this area. The sensor may be missing. BMW has the sensor, wire, and connector available sperately if they are missing or damaged. It will cause the outside reading to be -40 and can cause the a/c compressor not to operate.

2002 Ford explorer outside temperature reading is wrong. Changed temperature sensor between grill and radiator but still wrong temperature reading on dash. Reads 10 degrees too low all the time and it does...

This may be a wiring issue as the sensor is electronic in nature. Any loose wiring may cause the voltage across the sensor to differ resulting in an inaccurate reading.
