2000 LeSabre, car shuts off on interstate at 70 miles an hour or at lower speeds when driving, click to neutral and restarts while coasting, then runs fine for awhile, maybe an hour or two days or ten minutes. went to GM mechanics they diagnosed for 3 days with no luck, told the fuel pressure was 42-43 sometimes 40 psi.Fuel pressure regulator????Fuel control relay??? Fuel filter??? or wiring to relay, short to frame???

Have a repair shop go for a ride with you, as you
explain the issues

Then have them diagnose & resolve

Chevrolet Cavalier 2004 quits running while driving down the highway.

need to check fuel pressure, not just listen for pump to run, also check reading on coolant temp sensor, but sounds like fuel pump /filter issue. just because you hear pump run doesnt mean its putting our right amount of pressure. also check for plugged catylic convertor

Car just died on the highway, oil light came on but the oil level was fine, and it will try to start but wont.

it is hard to come up with a solution using your brief description, but since the oil level is good it sounds like and oil pressure issue. there are many causes of oil pressure issues, the best solution is to get the car to a shop.

I have a 2002 grand prix 3.8l I've just changed the fuel filter checked the wiring and fuses. my thought is a fuel pump. driving along on the highway about 100kms or more things seem quite normal,...

could be its failing to hold and pump the required pressure the motor needs to keep it running smoothly, but if you check this link, http://www.aa1car.com/library/2005/us80530.htm and go down to the part about your engine just stalls while driving, it tells you about the crank pos sensor and the ignition itself

Just purchases my 2005 Impala. It should get a combined 26 mpg, but I am getting about 13 mpg. Its the base model 3.4 v6. Doing mostly city driving with occasional highway

Combined fuel ecomony is based on 50/50 driving between city and highway. But I agree that 13 mpg is quite a bit down from that!

Do you have a "check engine" light staying on while you drive?
I am guessing you don't or you would have mentioned it.

Bad fuel economy with no warning indicator can be a sign of problems with low fuel pressure or a non-functioning coolant temp sensor.

The coolant sensor can be reading in the cold range and keeping the car in a "cold/starting" condition that won't allow for the car to adjust to being warmed up.

I would have the car checked for any error codes by a local shop or parts store that offer cheap or free scans. At least to rule out the coolant sensor or fuel pump. The fuel pump will eventually go completely out if it is going bad so better to know now than later! Fuel pumps are expensive to replace and you will want time to save up for the job!

Good luck and be careful.

2001 PT Cruiser quit running driving down highway

Most likely a cam sensor or a crank sensor. The timing belt didn't break did it? They also have an issue with the timing belt tensioner going bad and jumping a tooth.
