Question about 2000 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
When i try to turn the car on it will start to turn over but wont completely start running the engine and all of a sudden turn off on me. what do i need to do.... and i do have gas in the car.
This happened to my wife's car, and it was due to a faulty ignition key. Something about the chip in it.

OK - so it is not a Jetta 2000 TDI, which the heading at the top of my page here.
The only sensible way forward is to get a list of fault codes from the onboard diagnostic system and take it from there. You could either go to a VW dealer, or if you are technically minded you could buy a £15 interface cable, download some free "VAG diagnostic software" and run it on a portable computer.
If these suggestions do help you solve the problem, please give my reply a rating to help others judge my knowledge / guessing skills.
