Starter went out. when i turn on the ignition i hear a click but it will not turn over

It sounds like a weak starter that doesn't have enough battery power to fully engage the over-running clutch of the starter. If you don't want to jump right into replacing that you should check the fuses and relays that have to do with the starter and make sure all of those work.

How do I replace the starter on my 1993 chevy?

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery..
Under the front end - find the starter near where the trani connects to the motor and the really big gear (flywheel) is..
Undo 2 bolts to remove the starter.. take the wires off and be sure to put the wires on the starter the same way..
Connect the wires to the new starter and put the starter in with the to bolts.. The starter will only go in one way so you cant mess up how it goes in..

Good luck !

Where is the starter on my 93 chevy cheyenne

On the bottom and back side of the engine, passenger side, follow the positive battery cable down to it. It's connected on to the starter solenoid, which is connected to the top of the starter.
