My truck has the same thing going on, but mine starts at 50-60 mph and I seem to feel it more in the gas pedal than the steering wheel. I also notice the mirrors are vibrating and distorting the view.

    1997 chevy truck 350k miles

between 60-65 gets a flutter type vibration that lasts only a few seconds then goes a way for 5 minutes or so, then comes back now and again. Local shop took the rear end apart and found nothing wrong. They said af first that the vibration seemed to be coming from the rear end and wanted 1200 to rebuild the rear. Then they took it apart and found nothing wrong. Now they believe it may be coming from the transfer case????? But they aren't sure.........

Start by inspecting your tires. Look at tire ware, any tire separation (bubbles). Look at you wheels to see if you lost any wheel weights. Look at your driveline, wiggle it at the Ujoints to make sure they are tight. These are good starting points.

Do all the usual things for vibrations.....Tire and wheel balance and rotation, check driveshaft u joints and tailshaft bushing and yoke wear or play.I would look on All Data for any technical service bulletins from Chevrolet.Visually inspect suspension rubber bushings, and check balljoints for tight.Visually inspect shock absorbers.A better description of the vibration might help.Is the vibration sensitive to,or linked to,throttle position at those speeds?Load?

Why does a 2006 Ford Fusion have a strong vibration when stopped and in Drive?

If there are no check engine lights could be a bad motor mount or two. Would have them checked. Try putting car in neutral and see if vibration disapates a little.

Buick lesabre starts vibrating at 45 mph and stops around 55 mph...the steering wheel does not shake much but you can feel it vibrating just the same.....had new tires put on and balanced for the 2nd...

A vibration such as you are talking about could be caused by more then one thing. First it could be caused by a broken belt in one of your tires. I could also be caused by a bent rim, a warped rotter, or a bad cv joint. I hope this helps you solve your problem.

Vibration at 60 mph

The first thing to have checked is the wheel balance, if they are good then you need the brake system and wheel bearings checked. Please let me know if this does not help as there are a few more specific problems that could cause vibration.

Transmission problem

car out of cruise control flutters or runs rough from 45 mph to 55 mph and once over 55 mph runs smooth. I notice from 45 to 55 the rpm guage moves with flutter or rough running engine. when i put in cruise control it smooths out.
