If it's manual, it is all mechanical. I had the same problem a couple of years ago on my 1997. I ended up taking apart quite a bit of the seat and found a part deep inside that was broken. I don't remember the exact details, but I remember that if the part had failed completely the seat back would have suddenly dropped backward to a fully reclined position; could be extremely dangerous if it were to happen while you're driving it, so you need to get it taken care of ASAP. The broken part wasn't available from the dealer; they'd only sell it as a larger assembly, which was very expensive. It would have been cheaper to buy a complete new aftermarket seat, so I got a replacement part from a junk yard.

Ford 2008 expedition, power drivers seat won't recline, but everything else works.

Power Recliner
The driver seat has an electro-mechanical backrest adjuster. The backrest adjustment switch is located on the side of the seat cushion side shield and is part of the seat control switch. The recliner motor is mounted to the backrest frame. Power recliners and motors are only serviceable by installing a new backrest frame assembly.

Ford fiesta 2010 model, drivers seat is stuck near enough fully forward. I am unable to retract the seat back.

Normally there is a wire connections to the seat track locks and if one is broken or un hooked you will only be releasing one track. You may have to unbolt the seat from the tracks to fix it if you cannot get to see under the seat. Clean tracks make for easy adjustment so clean out the dirty track

Automatic driver seat broken, how to fix/cost

The back and foward movement uses the same motor. So if it moves one way but not the other it's most likely the switch. Try to blow it out or clean it out. If pop or somthing spilled on it you will prob. need to pull switch out and take it apart to clean contacks inside.

Rear Seat on C Class coupe will not release think I ned to take the seat backing off to look at the mechanism

i beleive the release handles are in the trunk. Unless the release handle broke or cable is broken it is probably out of adjustment. Try having someone lean into the seat backrest and then pull release handle. I'm assuming your talking about your backrest release. If you are refering to the seat cushion-they can be tough but try putting some weight down on the cushion and then try pulling the release handle at each side of the seat.

Hai i would like to know how to fold the back car seat to increase cargo space in hyundai santa fe 2003

The rear seats have a pull strap located between the bottom cushion and the backrest of the rear seats used to disengage a lock to lift up the bottom cushion. The pull straps will only stick out an inch or so, or they might have fallen down between the seats and then you wont see them. Before you can lower the backrest of the rear seats, the bottom cushions have to be lifted up and forward out of the way so that the backrest may lie down flat. If your pull straps are not visible between the bottom cushion and the backrest, you may have to stick your hand between the cushions and feel for the straps. Once you find the straps, pull upward on the while lifting on the bottom cushion where the pull strap is located and the seat should tilt forward. Once you have manged to do this, the lever for the backrest is located on the top of the backrest. Just slide the lever and tilt the backrest to the desired position.

Seat adjustment

Passenger seats are usually manually operated from a latch or bar under the front of the seat. the seat back should have a lever between the door and edge of seat to make adjustment pull up on lever push back on seatback.
