Re: 90 skylark with power accessories
Try to find the power box under the hood and see if you filled it with water. it is a black box that has all your relays and fuses in it for your car.. Under the lid of that box is the location of the windows and or antenna relay look this over and check all fuses in that box to see if that is the problem .. thanks Jerry holler if you need more.

If u know of someone who has an old scanner u can easily access the codes. Otherwise u need to jump pins a and b in the doc together with the ignition.on but the motor not running. The check engine light will flash codes. Long flashes are r tens and fast flashes r ones. It will start with 12. One long and then 2 fast. This will sequence 3 times and then go on to more codes. Once u have the codes u can look them up to get to the correct failure area. U may still need a pro to diagnosis it further but u will have a clue to the affected failure. Fyi the 12 is just a distributor code that will show up since the engine is not running. This is a normal code and should be ignored.
Generally it means you are drawing more power than the alternator is putting out, or if the engine is off the stereo or some other accessory is drawing power. The battery saver is warning you that you have just enough power left to start the engine. Could also mean you have a bad battery connection or your alternator is not putting out over 13 volts. If the engine is idling with air conditioning and stereo on for any length of time it could also trigger this warning as the alternator at idle speed may be unable to keep the battery at full.
You will want two of them, one is constant power, and can come from the battery if needed, and the other will be accessory power. It'll be the one that only gets power when your key is in and not in the "lock" position. You can actually hook both the stereo's wires to the constant power, but then you'll need to shut the stereo off manually, it won't go on and off with the car.
Following the tightening order, torque Head Bolts as following:
1. Torque All to 22 Ft Lbs 2. Torque all to 51 Ft Lbs 3. Loosen all 180 degrees 4. Loosen all 180 degrees 5. Torque Center Two bolts to 25 Ft Lbs 6. Torque Outer 4 bolts to 11 Ft Lbs 7. Tighten all bolts 90 degrees 8. Tighten all bolts 90 degrees again
Make sure you tighten all of them down the first 90* and then go back and tighten them another 90*. Also make sure you put some lube between the bolt and the washer, and put some sealant on the bolt threads. Use GM Thread Sealant.
That hose is to let the condensed water out of the box(from the AC system) If antifreeze is coming out there ,has to be a leak in the heater core. Hose is supposed to just direct the water to the ground,open on the end.
you dont need to take off the dashboard the stereo should come out by either screws or has holes on it that you need a special tool and you could pick that up at your local parts store and the directions to use that product should come on
1. was there any loud knocking noise ,loss of power before the car quit
2. remove all the spark plugs
3. jack the car up and remove the flex plate cover
4. the try and turn the engine over by the flex plate it should turn easy if it dosen't or will not turn then the engine is seized
