Clutch problem i have a 94 mighty max and just recently the clutch piece that fits snug against the firewall to hold the cable and supply tension went through the firewall and bent the metal back. now there is not enough tension for me to use the clutch and shift gears. any solutions or ways to fix the hole?

i already bought a new cable and installed it before. that is not my problem. it is the hole in the firewall. the hole where the clutch cable goes through is bent back and the hole is now bigger and the entire clutch cable piece that is supposed to fit against the firewall in the engine bay is now going through that hole into the cab.

Likely need to buy a new clutch cable and install, and adjust for proper freeplay, and also possibly address the hole in the firewall .The hole needs to be looked at to make sure it is not oversized, cracked, bent,or otherwise unable to retain the cable.

At this point, you need to repair the firewall, and i can tell you how to do this,or you may opt to have it professionally done as it will require some fabrication skills.I would locate some 1/8" or 3/16" steel plate and cut a piece that will ultimately bolt to the firewall.Measure the hole that the cable needs to slip through, and drill a new hole in the plate steel just large enough to allow the cable to pass through. Now line up the hole in your plate with the hole in the firewall and drill one hole through the plate and the firewall.Bolt in place with one bolt and nut, tighten it down so the holes line up,and proceed to drill 3 more holes, but put the bolts in the holes as you go,and drill and bolt for a total or 4 bolts to hold the steel plate to the firewall, and that's it...Done.The thicker the plate steel...3/16",the more durable the repair will be,but harder to work with thicker steel.

So I was driving my 91mitsubishi mighty Max and the clutch cable broke so I it towed to a mechanic to have it replaced a long with a new clutch but when he was done it still felt like the newcablw

take it back and have him fix it free as the job was not done properly
unless you had prior problems with the clutch operation ( slipping, grabbing ) then there was no need for a clutch kit to be fitted --just a clutch cable
probably replaced the clutch and did nothing with the cable

1988 mighty max. When I depress the Clutch, it has gotten increasingly Harder to Push in. It got so hard, it Pulled the Firewall in.

Does you clutch pedal assemble freely move without the cable attatch,if that good you need the cable and if it still stiff the clutch fork is not pivoting that good, also check you body ground, the cable may have acted as a ground system to the chasis

I need to adjust the clutch on a 1995 standard mighty max mitsubishi I changed the clutch disc, pilot bearing, throw-out bearing and pressure plate, but the clutch stays against the fly wheel when running...

You will need to turn the cable adjuster so there is only about 1/8 inch of free travel of the cable where it attaches to throw out fork before it starts to move the fork. Once the throw out bearing is achieving its full travel the clutch should release and enable gear selection.

Not usually these models all had hydraulic master cylinders for the clutch, if there is a master cylinder next to the brake master cylinder then that will be the clutch master cylinder and it will be hydraulic.

Clutch pedal too hard too push in 94 might max

Bad presure plate. The clutch is made up of two parts, the clutch disk and the presure plate. as the vehicle gets older the pressur plate can bend making it imposible to push the pedal in. This is very common if your vehicle has a clutch cable as compared to a hydrolic clucth but happens with both just the same. The solution is replace the clutch.

Torn clutch cable hole in firewall

Is there a quick, ugly fix for the firewall, such as tacking in a heavier piece of steel with a hole drilled in it for the clutch cable?
I certainly would; a steel plate with predrilled holes (which would serve as a drilling template) could be safely hand-riveted to the fire wall. Riveting tools can be had for under $10 US and are often offered with a basic assortment of pop rivets.
You can see what is commonly available here:
Harbor Freight tools
This surely would have no influence on safety. Just make sure that the hole for the clutch cable grommet is snug so no water can pass into the passenger compartment.
