I cannot turn on my car. when I attempt to do so, it reads"Starting Disabled due to Theft System". It is a 1995 Cadillac El Dorado.
The wire that goes to the ignition to the anti theft device is probably broken if you call a good locksmith they can go in through the steering column and fix it same thing happened to my 95 eldorado apparently cadillac designed the anti theft system to coincide with the ignition and is connected to the ignition with two wires that turn as the key is turned the wires twist and eventually they wear out
Question? when it does disable it usually will say " starting disabled due to theft system remove key from ignition and wait 3 minutes'. Are you able to start car after the 3 minutes? or it wont period? My car does this alot to but I think its cause you have to unlock the car, get in it, shut the doors and then start the car because mine does it when i open the doors.
