Hello there try giving your steering wheel a good **** and try the ignition at same time. I know the steering wheel is in the locked position but there is a little bit of play there that sometimes will release the locked up ignition.
Assuming the car is not running and you are trying to start it, sometimes the steering wheel is locked from the wheel thrying to turn back on itself and this won't allow the key to turn. Try turning the steering wheel all the way to the left or right then while the wheel turned, try to turn the key.
To fix your problem, you have to turn the steering wheel either to the
left or right as much as you can, then try to turn the key in the
ignition. When the steering wheel locks, the key won't turn. By manually
holding the steering wheel out of the lock position, the key will turn
again and you're steering column will be back to normal.
A couple of guesses so if it fails you'll have to post the problem again.
1) Is there a button to release the ignition lock, sometimes on the underneath of the steering column? 2) Assuming no or you've already tried that, sometimes, if when parked, the steering wheel is turned slightly, the steering lock and the ignition lock bind. Just try rocking the steering wheel left and right, no more than 8th of a turn, while trying to turn the ignition key. May just work.
Please dont think Im talking down to you when I ask this, but did you try turning the steering wheel? If the steering wheel is got tension on it ie against a curb, etc then the key wont turn in the cylinder. If that isnt the case then if you have the inclination you can try taking the steering column apart and replacing the ignition switch, or get it towed to your mechanic...
