Hello, my husband replaced the brake pads and had the rotors turned on our 2006 Nissan Murano, as well as rotating the tires. Ever sense we have had a weird thumping and vibration on the vehicle when we apply the brakes ONLY when we are going 5o mph or faster. The steering wheel shakes and it feels like the wheels are going to fall off.

2000 ford excursion v10 2 wheel drive...shakes when braking moderately. It doesn't do if you brake hard or lightly. Just had the tires rotated too

Brake rotors warped. Have machine turned or replace. Don't use semi metal pads. They create excessive heat that warps the rotors.

My Nissan Murano 2007 shows a spanner and word PIT on TV screen. Whatdoes thisnmean?

That seems to be an indicator that your wheels (tires) should be rotated.

Your manual indicates the reset procedure for these service lights.

Below there is a video that depicts a 2006 being operated.

Hope this helps.

Rear end feels really loose when turning from stop

Check the tire inflation. Also, if you can jack the tire up off the ground, rotate the tire and feel across the top of the tread. If there seems to be any high/low spots or feeling of side-to-side tread movement, you may have a separated belt in the tire. This can cause the "loose" feeling you are getting.

HI MY 2006 S AWD MURANO HAS STARTED THIS IRRITATING VIBRATION..CAUSES EVERYTHING FROM THE SEATS AND THE MIRRORS TO VIBRATE. I HAVE CHECKED BALANCING, TIRE ROTATION AND ALIGNMENT..BUT PROBLEM PERSIST. DO...

Hm. I had an irritating vibration at highway speed with tires that came with my car. I had the balance checked and it was determined that there was an out of round tire. I replaced the tires, had them spin balanced, and the rims were perfect. After that, the vibration at highway speed went away.

Tires are the most common problem for vibration at various speeds.

Where did you buy your tires or have them spin balanced?

Brakes scream when backing up

how many miles are on your car? Maybe take it to PepBoys - they have a free brake inspection.

I had the brake squeal thing too and just got new ceramic pads and new drilled/ slotted rotors. it stops much better and the squeal is completely gone.

The rotors were only like $100 and the pads and labor was maybe $150.

2006 Malibu Maxx - rotors were out of round.

In order to retract the pistons on the rear calipers you need to use a special tool that will rotate the piston in a clockwise direction. It may be possible to try to use a strong needle nose plier.Apply force against the U shaped slots on the piston and rotate clockwise until the piston bottoms out. Before you reinstall the caliper make sure that the recessed slots are at 12 and 6 "o"clock..the slots align with one or two bumps on the inside pad.
If you are having problems with your calipers rebuilt one are a good option. If only the caliper slide pins are sticking they can be cleaned and lubricated.Pin lubricant sometimes comes with a set of brake pads.Other than that lube may be purchased separately at an automotive supply store.
