have you taken off the valve covers to see if the connectors are broken the wires to the injectors and the glow plugs and they are molded into the valve cover gasket over time the little tab that holds them together breaks and they come apart the gaskets are about 110 dollars through dorman

if you have oil leaking that severe, chances are that one of your spark plug holes have oil in them causing your misfire..in that case it would sound that you need to replace your valve cover gasket
to check pull one by one you ignition wire up from valve cover and check for oil in hole and on boot

the explorer has two horns, they are both mounted under the driver's side headlight behind the front bumper. you will need to remove the splash shield to get to them. Hope this helps you

replace valve cover gaskets

you need to change the valve cover gasket. try to tightin it up first, start in the middle and work your way around.

may be corroded or rusted in

remove the valve cover bolts. remove the valve cover. scrape off the old gasket material off the cover and the engine. put the new gasket in place and replace the bolts and tighten...dont over tighten.

1. P0171-bank 1 lean, usually oxygen sensor
2. P0174-bank 2 lean, usually oxygen sensor
3. PO402-EGR ins. flow, Clean EGR exhaust tubes and replace sensor should fix this problem

have you try cleaning also the air filters..? fuel pump..?
