Question about 1989 Oldsmobile Delta 88

Battery keeps going dead

The passenger door window shattered and all the glass fell into the door. I tried to take the door apart, got half way and could'nt go any futher. I put it back together, started the car and moved it. Thje next day battery was dead. I charged it several times over the next few days and it still went dead overnight. I pulled the power window fuse out, put in a brand new battery, used the car for two days and then the battery went dead. Something is on which is making the battery go dead, how can I find the problem? Pls help as this car is really good on gas and only has 110,000 miles on it.
Thank you,Ron Bonito "rrbtrumpet@sbcglobal.net"

Get yourself a multimeter, take the door cover off. Start checking everything. check to see what is hot and whats not. If its not hot, then it not the problem. If its hot then follow it back. Also I'm not real familiar with the Delta modles, but I have run into situations where some of the relays are actualy under the driver seat. If it doesn't seam to difficult you may want to pull the seat.

If your not into all the trouble shooting and diagnostic work, one other way to solve the problem without a lot of work is to go to the junk yard. Find a door that works and is obviously all there. and just replace the old door. The worst thing you may need to do is go to Mayco and get a cheap paint job. The most you need to do is just splice the wires where they are cut and your problem is fixed and you didn't take the door apart at all. and if the inside part doesn't match just replace it with the cover from the one you got rid of.

How do I to get glass up on passenger side?

Your easiest solution is probably going to be taking the door apart from the inside (just a few screws) and setting the window back on the track.

Window on 2001 toyota solara "fell" down. What's wrong?

A few possibilities, either the window regulator has broken, or the bracket that holds the glass at the bottom has come loose from the glass. The bracket can pull off the glass, especially with power windows when you're trying to lower the window and it is stuck from freezing or old glass runs that are trapping the window from moving.

re-installing the bracket to the glass is often tricky, and it is easy to shatter the glass. Often best left for a car repair shop or an automotive glass shop to repair.

You will need to remove the door panel to inspect for what the issue is, and then repair it accordingly.

Passenger window- about 1/3 way down- went to close- hit power button- started up then window fell-

You need to have the power window regulator replaced. Very common in these cars. Its not an easy job. With a good service manual and some patience its not to bad.

I can closed the back passenger window

IF you can, separate the rubber/felt window seals and see if you can see the top of the window glass. IF you can - use a pair of needle nose pliers and attempt to carefully pull up - making sure you do not crack (shatter) the glass. Once enough glass is exposed - use your fingers to pull-up. While you are pulling--up attempt to raise (up) the window with the window switch. There may be a dead spot on the motor, by pulling-up you advance the motor beyond the dead spot, and the motor MAY re-engage.
IF you can't get the glass up with needle nose pliers, try pushing down on the glass (being careful again) while engaging the window switch to raise (up). Again the idea is to get the motor from the dead spot.
Another way: While engaging the window switch to raise the window - bang (hard) on the door - in various spots to attempt to "vibrate" the motor to engage.
Last but not least: Remove the Inner Door Panel and raise the window by hand, again using the window switch to (maybe) assist you.
I have also (but painfully): separated the window seals and got a piece of duct tape down onto the glass, using a long screw driver to adhere enough of the tape to the glass enough to pull up on the glass. It worked but it needs careful hand control on your part. GO Duct Tape!

Front passenger power window does not work properly.

Take it to an Auto glass place and they can fix that problem.
If your going to try it you need to remove the inside door panel and look at the window rail fram and check the fasteners that hold the glass to the mounting brace. Inspect the guild rails for the window for any damages and worn parts.
After inspecting and re tighten all the nut's and bolts and glass lines up. Just put things back together like new. Good luck and buy new door clips for the panel since they break easy.
