Citroen zx immobiliser 1400cc petrol 1996

Starter motor replaced. when tried to start red light on immobiliser came on as well as green light. ECU sent off and checked ok. Any ideas

Fob key problems


You need to have the spare reprogrammed as it has an immobiliser chip that sends a signal to the cars ecu so if the ecu doesn't recognise the chip the engine won't start.

If you check your engine fuse box and find that your 20amp fuse is blown its either a sticking starter relay or water getting in your electrics. Try checking this first as the fuse box is directly above wheel arch and can get damp. Clean up green contacts and keep a spare 20amp fuse handy. After changing this blown fuse you will need to reset the engine management system by disengaging the battery terminal. You're clocks might be out but car will now start. Don't forget to buy that starter relay if problem persists.

1987 300 zx starts the quits after 2 minutes and won't start again


probally crank sensor. starts then stalls after driving a few min. then won't start for awhile. u can actually check it on the ecu. 4 green lights then 4 red lights. if you can't run the comp check on ecu let me know i'll look it up its been awhile had same prob years ago all my sensors are new

How do I wire a remote door lock to my 1995 mitsubishi eclipse , what are the wire colors for the power door locks?


Hope this helps. It's for a 2004 eclipse remote start.

12volts white/red (40A) + ignition harness
Starter black/red + ignition harness
Second Starter N/A
Ignition green + ignition harness
Second Ignition N/A
Third Ignition N/A
Accessory blue/red + ignition harness
Second Accessory blue/black + ignition harness
Keysense blue/red ignition harness
Notes: This wire rests at ground, and goes to an open circuit when the key is inserted into the ignition cylinder.
Power Lock purple - pin 33 at ETACS ECU
Notes: The ETACS ECU is attached to the back of the fuse box.
Power Unlock lt. green/red - pin 34 at ETACS ECU
Notes: The ETACS ECU is attached to the back of the fuse box.
Lock Motor lt. green 5wi pin 19, 28 pin plug below fuses
Unlock Motor green/red 5wi pin 22 at ETACS ECU
Notes: The ETACS ECU is attached to the back of the fuse box.
Parking Lights+ green/white + pin 2, 15 pin plug above fuses
Parking Lights- N/A
Hazards green - pin 55 at ETACS ECU
Notes: The ETACS ECU is attached to the back of the fuse box.
Turn Signal(L) green/blue + pin 8, 15 pin plug above fuses
Turn Signal(R) green/yellow + pin 13, 15 pin plug above fuses
Reverse Light red/blue + pin 9, 43 pin plug in driver kick

Notes: The driver door trigger is lt. green, pin 6, in a 15 pin plug above the fuses. The passenger door is lt. green/black in pin 65 at the ETACS ECU. Use both wires and diode isolate each.

Factory Alarm Disarm orange - pin 25 at ETACS ECU
Notes: Meter this wire while turning the key in the driver door key cylinder.

The ETACS ECU is attached to the back of the fuse box.
Disarm No Unlock blue/red - pin 27 at ETACS ECU
Notes: Meter this wire while turning the key in the hatch/trunk key cylinder.

The ETACS ECU is attached to the back of the fuse box.

Notes: The engine speed detection connector is a single pin connector in the fuse/relay box under the hood.

try changing the glow plug relay box located to the side of the battery ... easy fix if not then maybe a solenoid

Citroen xantia fuel pump relay


If the pressure is up the pump will not cut in anyway! slacken off a fuel line to the injectors a little and drain a few cc of fuel out (it will evaporate fast) then try again, if the pump runs for a couple of seconds then look at the spark, if it doesnot the relay is above the fuses.

Landcruiser VX 1996 will not start since I changed the battery


dealer only to re programme key into car it can only be done with vehicle, not away from it .Sorry for no easy fix unless you want to disengage the factory immobiliser,which if its a diesel is a fairly simple procedure but not for a petrol engine

dont know how to do it, sorry, but same thing happened on mother-in-laws car, mechanic just by-passed immobiliser, cheaper than new parts and loads of labour charges. Good luck

Scenic non start


Hi

I wouldn't have thought the ECUs would be interchangeable due to the immobiliser. Thinking about it, a fault with the immobiliser would cause the lack of spark and noid. I know they usually also disable the starter motor as well, but a fault would change the way it responded.

I think a computer is needed here to live scan the ECU and see exactly what the little blighter is playing at before you go to the expense of an ECU.
