I have a 92 trooper with the same problem but i also feel it thru my pedal. after 3 master cylinders, abs brain and proportional valve i still have "soft" brake pedal and the truck sits in my driveway. doeas your brakes "give" or feel as if they will not stop your truck ?

What to do with a brake booster out and the ABS light came on? 1998 Isuzu Trooper

Hi Rebecca,
Since the AntiLock Braking System utilizes the power (vacuum) boost to operate normally, the ABS indicator should come on if the booster fails. Yes, this means your ABS system is not able to function correctly, but neither are your standard brakes (as the extra pedal effort required to stop will tell you). however, your brakes DO WORK, so driving it to get the codes scanned shouldn't be too dangerous - just be ready to stand on the brake pedal with both feet and leave yourself plenty of room to stop by driving slowly and looking well ahead for stopped traffic. Once your booster is fixed, the ABS light should go off without any special reset or clearing of ECM memory. Good luck and happy motoring!

check the u-joints in the drive shaft. With engine off and shifter in park with e-brake engaged Climb under truck and locate driveshaft Try turning the driveshaft back and forth normally shaft will move about 1/4 inch while turning shaf, look at u-joints both front and rear for wear.

What's your problem?01 isuzu trooper 3.0L 4 wheel drive was working but its not now.the green light is on solid when ignition is on but when started and dash button pushed in the green light flash

have also had same problem, green light flashing on my isuzu trooper 3.0
check to see if drive prop shaft is engaged firstly, first step for front wheels engaging, then 2 more solenoids are under engine front of jeep, one coloured blue one grey, these work with vacuum, if i remember blue for engaging drive grey for disengaging, inside solinoids small tiny piston, could be stuck as mine was, can be taken apart & cleaned, reason sticking is moist in vacuum system, & not being used as 4 wheel drive until winter months, hope this helps

I can hear an intermittent (grind then no grind) noise, the frequency of which increases when the speed of the vehicle increases. It sounds as if it is coming from the rear wheel. Im in an 1997 Isuzu...

Not the CV joint, I don't think you have one in the rear, but the wheel bearing, yes, Next time you drive it, crawl under there and feel the rear end next to the wheel, Careful, Hot? How about closer to the wheel, then how about the drum dust cover itself? If it hotter than it should be, like oil boiling out or brake fluid boiling out, time to change the bearing, don't wait for it to seize on the axle, you will have to cut it off. You will need to check the book on the way the axle comes out, some come right out, some are attached inside the rear end, need to be un-clipped, then the axle will come out, You will need a slide hammer or a chain to snatch it out of there. Good luck, hope this helps.
