Question about 2001 Oldsmobile Alero
My interior lights stay on 24/7 even while im driving, and my doors wont lock. it's acting like it has the key turned on in which it dont. it runs my battery down and on top of that... i have an interlock installed in my car from a recent dwi...it stays on and beeps and tells me to blow.. but heck.. im not in the car... and if i miss the test... it automatically locks me out.. so im screwed and in deep shitsu.. can someone help???? please?
wow, Sounds like the problems coming from inside the steering column hopefully. I had a 97 Grand Prix that refused to let me have the key some days. That problem was the shift interlock safety switch and we bypassed it your problem definately sounds like its in the column or maybe the shifter. you need one of those switches bypassed or fixed. late nineties pontiacs and those olds aleros had those qwerks like that, once you get them ironed out they are halfway decent cars, hang on to that car if you can it will be worth some money someday. good luck with your other stuff also. one day at a time
