Question about 2002 Chevrolet Camaro

1 Answer

2002 camaro won't start...

No prior indications of problem of any kind... drove my car home yesterday and shortly after had to run back out. went to start the car (2002 camaro w/ 3.8L v6). radio and dashlights worked fuine, no dead battery ticking, no turnover. just nothing when i turned the key. ended up rolling downhill and dumping clutch (key was on) and it started but still wanted to cut off. i think it may be a security system problem, though pass-2 key chip is intact and clean... any ideas? Thanks!

I have iinstaiied a new switch. The key that came with the new switch does not have the chip in it. Do I need to just get the key re-cut with tte chip in it or does the car have to be re-programmed?

An aftermarket radio was installed in car and now security key locks car from starting for about five minutes. I believe key wire was disconnected from radio hook up but do not know if it goes to power side or ground side on 97 Camaro rs

Remove the black connector to pcm . Check for corrosion pins . Then inspect the plug end for corrosion. I found moisture seep by the weather pack seal and wire on older vehicles.

Engine won't turn over

This is most likely the battery, sometimes you can have enough power for dome lights and radio, but not enough "Cranking Amps" to start the vehicle. Charge it, or take it to an Auto zone or something. They will charge it and test it for free.
