Question about 2000 Daewoo Lanos

Lost of power, exhaust pipe turning cherry red.

Hi, I have a problem with my daewoo lanos (2000). While driving today, the car all of a sudden lost power when I tried to accelerate. Acceleration was very very slow. After pulling over I noticed smoke coming out from the hood. Looking under the engine, I noticed the exhaust pipe near the catalytic converter was cherry red. The section that was red was only about 4-5 inches or so. Check engine light also came on (blinking), not just your usual on. Car felt like it wanted to stall at a stop but didn't. I let the car cool down for about an hour or so, and it became good again. But after about driving it for 10 minutes, it kicked in again and lost power and engine light came on blinking again. The pipe got cherry red again. Some told me that it might be the timing belt which is throwing everything off. Some say its the catalytic converter, or the pipe being clogged. Anyone who could help me out with this would be a savior to me.

The Oxygen Sensor is located: Under hood, driver side, lower engine area, above exhaust pipe flange, mounted in exhaust manifold, don't have a picture. Here's a link to what it look's like just remove the electrical connector, get a open end wrench and remove.. http://www.autozone.com/engine-management/oxygen-sensor/bosch-oxygen-sensor/daewoo/lanos/1999/4-cylinders-6-1-6l-mfi-dohc/4971_102074_1784_97999

Were is thermastatic fan switch daewoo lanos 2000 1.6

The part looks like this: http://www.theautopartsshop.com/search/LargeImage.aspx?imgPath=BA/BA%202011358-1.jpg

Everything from the T-looking part to the threads should be visible somewhere around the thermostat housing or on the back of the engine block, possibly underneath the intake manifold. You might need to get underneath the car to see it. Possibly remove the exhaust pipe to gain access.

How do you replace a oxygen sensor?

For 2000 Daewoo Lanos 1.6L MFI DOHC 4cyl the Oxygen Sensor is located under vehicle, driver side, below seating area, mounted in exhaust pipe in front of catalytic converter.

Good luck (remember rated this).

Engine timing belt 1600 daewoo lanos

It connects the crankshaft to the camshaft, which controls the valves that let the air fuel mix in and the exhaust out of the cylinders

Sounds like one or more of your fuel injectors is stuck open and dumping raw gas into the exhaust system. I would replace all the injectors since there was sugar run through it.

I just had my car battery changed and I do not know the code for the stereo. When I purchased the vehicle, there was no manual. I need the code please.

Each radio has a specific four-digit code, which was originally provided on a plastic card within the owner's manual kit. New owners were encouraged to remove the card and keep in a safe place outside the car (eg home). Since these cards may be lost over time (or perhaps not passed along when the car was sold used), that leaves today's owner in a tough spot, sorry.
