Question about 1990 Volkswagen Cabriolet

Wont start we haved this car for four month waiting on a friend to decide on fixing the clutch. we fix it, but now the car will not start. it sounds as if the injectors are not has good fuel pressure, and when pouring gas into the throttle body it will start but shut back off. we have replaced the blown fuel pump fuse and fuel injector relay. please help!!!

(1990-92)the answer is real simple it is a 10.00 problem... all you have to do is install a ford cylanoid between the battary and starer it took me a thousand dollars to find this out...

Idle sticks inbetween gears when you go to shift . Have to hold in the clutch and wait till it drops , and then shift . Mainly happens between 1st and second gear .

Sounds like a clutch release problem since engine speed should have no effect on your ability to shift into gear once the clutch is depressed. But there are other possibilities, personally I would start by inspecting (and replacing if necessary) the clutch throw out bearing and clutch pressure plate. If they're both within spec then inspect the shift fork. If you have to go any further than that your looking at having to replace synchros inside the transmission. 90 percent of the time just replacing the throw out bearing will do the trick. Personally depending on mileage I would replace the whole clutch assembly since its a fair amount of work just to access the clutch bearings and once your there the entire assembly is accessible

You have to put it in neutral with the engine running and the vehicle stopped and your foot on the brake. Press the button and wait a few seconds and you should hear it disengage. You have destoyed the deferential by driving it on a non slippery surface with the 4x4 engaged. Very very expensive mistake if you ever decide to fix it. Hopefully it will do ok in 2wd.

I would have trouble changing gears in my Rover 75 after around 15 minutes of driving. About 2 months later my head gasket blew. Could these problems of been related?

No, the problem with the head gasket would not be related-just bad coincidence for you.
Sounds like the synchronizer gears in your transmission are worn-that will make shifting difficult. The shop must have checked the clutch operation, if they put in a new clutch master cylinder
If it is the synchronizers, you'll just have to put up with it till you decide to replace or repair the transmission. (My toyota has a bad synch. for 3rd gear-hard to downshift-but I just live with it-too expensive to fix.)

Vehicle wont start until the third time you turn the key, and it will run for about four miles, and dies. then you have to wait about ten minutes, and things start to click back on, and the jeep will...

This sounds like the ignition switch is going bad, I would also check the ignition relay to make sure that it is activating properly. But the switch is what will stop the car like that and then let you restart it.

I have a friend who has a 2000 expidition and when he gets to start his truck the key wont turn. but if he waits like an hour or so he tries again and it works? what could be the cause of this and how so...

Not sure but sounds to me like the starter might be going out. I had this happen to me and We put in a new starter and it fixed the problem.

there is a plastic clip that connects the clutch pedal to the rod that goes to the master cylinder, chances are that it let go. Bad thing is that it is only available from GM along with the rod. It is around 50

Onece in a while turn over wont fire. runs great other wise

your injector or fuel pump may be going out, next time when you check the issue, check your distubutor again and making sure you getting sparks, if you do have sparks than it has to be your fuel problems.

Bleeding the clutch line

It sounds like you have air in the system. Either they did not bleed it correctly or you have a leak in the system.
If you paid someone to fix your car, have it towed back to the garage and bled correctly or leak fixed. If a friend installed your parts, find a new friend. Just kidding.
