Question about 1994 Buick Park Avenue

Trunk latch My 1994 Park Avenue automatic close trunk latch stopped working. I need the lower (pull-down) unit. I can't find a used one anywhere and the new units are too expensive. Is there a way to retrofit the truck lock thereby eliminating the auto close latch?

I have the exact same problem. Trunk latch catches but it doesn't comedown. Eventually it come down by itself. I've disconnected the electrical connections and cleaned them but didn't improve the operation.

I have same problem with a 1993 Park Avenue. The trunk will latch but the motor won't pull it down tight. The dealer wanted over 600$ to fix it.

The switch is bad. It is mounted to the pull down latch. Black plastic with one screw and a clip holding it on. I got a new one from a dealership for 32 bucks. Put it on myself. Remove the screw and unhook wires and the clip. Pulls straight up..

Trunk does not latch all times

The trunk latching mechanism may need to be lubed, it may not be completely latching when you close the trunk. Try use some WD-40 on it, if that doesn't work you might need to replace the latching mechanism.

Automatic truck pull down

do you mean it won't close....or it won't stay closed ? check the latch inside the trunk....sometimes it may be in the locked position which case the ring that goes into it can not.....sometimes just "unlocking it with the key will reset the latch into the open position....and a bit of oil on the moving parts can work...

Thats a pretty common problem with those motors so I would lean towards it being just that. I dont know if you are into shoppin around for it but I happen to see a couple on Ebay Motors for about 48.00 bucks.

95 Buick Park Ave Ultra power trunk latch won't latch .

The latch on the deck lid needs to be clicked open so it can catch the striker. Try key to unlock and see if you can get the latch hook open.
