Without looking, Id say you have a transverse mount engine (sideways) with three main mounting points. One on either side of motor and one on the transmission end. Its also possible you have some sort of mounting on the north end end of the motor. In any case, the whole affair sits in the engine compartment like in a cradle....so, the transmission mount is every bit as important as the rest of the mounts, because all are needed to hold it into place properly. If the car is jumping out of gear, that could become hazardous in traffic. Get it looked at ASAP.

How to change right front motor mount on ford five hundred 2005 5F9Z6038BA

I would change all the mounts on any transaxle vehicle,
motor & transaxle

You have to put a block of wood or couple pieces of
plywood under the oil pan, so as not to dent it & raise the
motor & trans axle enough, to get out the mount your working on

To be honest, I doubt you have the tools or confidence to be
doing that job. You need your head about you & jack stands
floor jack & long pry bars you won't own

My 2000 maxima transmission is leaking slip[ing engine light on also need to change motor mounts front and back is transmission going bad?

frist thing to do is vcheck the trans fluid level. you do this wh4en the car is running. If it is very low it can make the transsmision slip. That would eb the frist thing. next you should also get the code pulled for your car. I might guess and say it is a p0720 code. let me know if I am right and motor mounts are no bad. you will have to disconnect the wires that go to them they have brown connectors and a bunch of clips you will have to disconnect. after that you can take out the long bolt that goes throught the middle of the mount and then take the cross memeber down . you will need a jack to be able to do this job. once you get the crossmemeber down it will have the mounts still on them you chnage them and then put it back in reverse order.

Vibrates when backing up

It could be a bad motor/trans axle mount. Have an assistant start the engine and put the vehicle in drive and then reverse while you watch. If the motor moves more in one direction then the other, then that motor mount is probably bad.

My 92 honda accord ex as a rough idle at stop and if i put in it reverse the idle is alot rougher. it idle at 750rpm

Typically this a result of bad motor mounts, I had the same issue with my 92 honda accord, changing the side mounts and the strut up front resolved the issue. The Trans mount, behind the motor is the most difficult mount to change and requires you to unbolt the other mounts and roll the motor far enough forward to gain access to that mount, but once all 4 mounts are replaced your issue should be resolved

When shifting into 2nd gear the stick and trans shakes like crazy until i shift into 3rd gear?

it sounds like you may have a bad transmission mount or motor mount. put a jack under the transmission and jack the trans up. Look at the trans mount and the motor mounts and see if the rubber is cracked or ripped.

How to check bad trans mount...

To check it you need to use a pry bar and rock the motor around, as well as use a jack to raise the engine/trans assembly and see if the mount has too much play.

Goto any major parts store and buy the manual for the car its $15, or they usually will let ya look at it to see what ya need, but buying an older car i recomend buying the book, plus it will tell you exactly how to change the mounts, as well as many other repairs

Vibration through car

If you don't have to be moving to get the vibration then it has to be either something is not balanced properly (torque converter may be bad, front pulley, engine flywheel cracked) or you have a bad mount, causing the vibration from making the engine or trans contact the car body in a place you can't see.
Hard to pinpoint without feeling it myself. I can say for sure it's not the cam belt, unless there's debris stuck to the inside of the cam gear causing the vibration.

1984 s10 2.8 manual trans. flywheel causes engine to vibrate

no should be same engine. check your engine mounts and tranny mount. how bad a vibration? sometimes after installing engine the trans gets shifted around and if mount was worn it will allow it to hit crossmeber and vibrate.
