I just removed mine from a Focus. If it is the same then look on the cylinder for a small oblong hole. Inside this hole is the release button for the cylinder. Turn the key so that it lines up with the release button. Push the button and pull the cylinder out.

I need a new igniton switch I know but can't afford it. How can I temporarily fix this problem until it's replaced? (1998-Chevrolet caviler)

Take the old switch off so that the steering lock cannot activate.
Find the two wires that activate the ignition and connect to a separate switch, find the starter wire and connect it to a button. Flick the switch and press button to start engine.

Ignition interlock device

Most cars require the key to be able to turn to chamge out the ignition. Get a new one and read the instructions. If it does require the key, then carefully drill the pins in the key slot until you can insert a screwdricer to turn the ignition. Then replace. Look at the new one before doing anything to destroy old one. You have to be carful not to drill into the igniton housing and so on.

How do i bypass the igniton

If your looking for someone to tell you how to hot wire a car, your not going to get much help here. If you need information on replacing the ignition switch, or disabling the ignition before cranking the engine over for servicing then you've come to the right place.
