Question about 2002 Ford F250 Super Duty SuperCab

1 Answer

Engine dying I've rejected the weak battery solution about four times now and don't think I will accept it regardless how many times you suggest it. In my first description I neglected to mention that my engine is a 7.3 liter diesel. This is the second time I've mentioned that so maybe you can reconsider with that additional info. As I said in my first description the engine will just die and then always restarts in a short time. Usually just a minute or so.

Not start, when I turn it, it just clicks

You do not give us any engine specs. There is a four cyl and 2 different 6 cyl options for this car. However, basic troubleshooting should work regardless. Turn on your dome light. Try to start the car. Does the dome light go completely out when trying to start? If so, your battery is weak and the starter cannot engage. If the lamp stays bright, then the starter is the most likely problem.

I have a LS400 Lexus thats will start then immediately dies, I've checked fuel pressure and have 40psi, it is not pulling any codes, has new battery, any suggestions?

Does the vehicle rev up to about 2k RPM and then die? Does it do this every time, meaning can you start the vehicle every time but then dies?
Was there any other things happening before or several different things? Example - black smoke out tail pipe, would not hold a steady speed and jerked or hesitated? If you answered yes to these questions it is a good chance the vehicle computer needs replacing. (I had the same issue, different vehicle).

If not, do you have any more information?

I hope this helps!!!

I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8. It started as a great running little SUV for me but has recently become the most problematic vehicle I have ever owned. With a new fully charged battery it will start...

Sounds like you covered everything electrically. Did you check the belt to see if it is tight enough. It's been a while since I've worked on a 95, if it has an auto belt tensioner. it could be weak, not turning the alternator fast enough under a load. This can happen and the belt not squeak.

My daughter has a 1994 Chrysler LHS that keeps dying. We have replaced the battery and the alternator but not sure what else to check for. We think it maybe the battery cable to cannot find an exact...

If the "dying" word here refers to engine shutting down often then its not a problem related to battery/alternator/battery cable. What you need to get checked is:

1. Fuel pump
2. injectors / FI

Please take your car to a expert mechanic who would be able to detect exact faulty component and don't waste money on guess work.

Car starts then dies out . like there no gas going to the engine.

Well ron1686, if your car is a Toyota Corolla, 2005-2007, that problem is caused by the immobilizer security circuit. Somehow it stopped accepting your car keys. Depending on your case, you will either need to get new programmed keys or get your car computer (ecu) reprogrammed to accept your existing keys, like explained here:
