Body Paint Code

Hello there Annie,

Well I think I know WHY nobody can match the paint. The code you have presented is the body assembly number. The 'FB' refers to the body being build in Flint Michigan, then I believe the numbers afterwards are the assembly number.

Regardless of all that, there should be a body plate about the size of a credit card (I take it this is where you came up with the number to begin with).

Just below where it says 'Body' it should say 'Paint'. Just to the right of that is the actual paint code.

If you look in the glove box there may be a label with all the
options & paint code. I just checked my old 1984 GM Vehicle
& that was the case. A Dealer should be able to run your Vin #
& I know any auto body supply has many books with paint codes
going back 70 years,You have the color, so an auto body supply
or the internet search should get you the code

Subaru paint codes are located on either strut tower or in the door edge or jamb. Most paint color codes are three digits long and may contain both letters and numbers. For two tone cars: The paint code for a two tone car provides the data for both the upper body paint color and the lower bumper color. The trim code is never the bumper color. The paint code is on the trim tag attached to the driver's side firewall. A trim tag, lists original interior trim, exterior color, build date and other fisher body info. The paint code is a two digit code on the right side second row. If you have two codes, the car was a two tone car. If you go to http://www.paintscratch.com/ you can enter the year make and model of the car and see all the avilable colors that are original for that vehicle.

The paint code for all Chevy cars and trucks are located on the service parts identification sticker. While the sticker is moved around from year to year, it still looks like the ones below. Most labels are white paper sticker, while more moderns ones are a silver label. While most paint codes in our database start out with a "WA", most cars and trucks will start out with a "BC/CC U". BC/CC stands for basecoat/clearcoat, and the U stands for upper or body color.


Two Tone Models: A two toned car will have a "U" followed by the four digit color code for the body color, and an "L" followed by a four digit color code for the lower color or the bumper color.

I believe it should be 78U. Which is maroon metallic.

Toyota paint codes are can usually be found either under the hood or on the passenger/drivers side door jamb. Most Toyota paint codes are 3 digits long.
If you can't find your color code on the car your local Toyota dealership (parts department) will be able to tell you your code from your registration or chasis number...

make this much easyer on yourself take the vin to the dealer and get them to decode the vin your paint code is in there. also there is a plate on the fire wall that will have the paint code

The WA code should be at the bottom of the tag. It isn't there?

It should be located within the serial number. Any dealer or body shop should be able to assist you with this.

The paint color code should be on the door sticker, along with the vehicle information.
