2002 Yukon 5.3L Heater core hose quick connect leaking. The quick connect confused mess of plastic lego parts is leaking right where it push locks onto the core fitting coming out of the firewall. It's the one hose that has the Tee in it (which I presume takes off and goes to the rear heater core. Question is what is the name of the quick connect part I need? Or is there an o-ring kit to repair it? If you push pull on the hose you can feel it's rather loose and when you pull on it coolant pours out of the fitting. Advice please? Thanks

Actually, those connectors were a mistake, courtesy of General Motors. A simple fix is to get rid of the plastic connector. Ok....where your two pipes come out of the heater core at the firewall...sometimes they are so brittle, they will come out with relative ease. Sometimes you need to break them off in pieces, so that all you have is metal pipe sticking out. That stub out is 3/4in. if memory serves. Which ever size it is, measure it and go to Home depot or your hardware store, plumbing section. Get a brass nipple. Say its 3/4s....get the nipple with threads on one end, smooth pipe on the other. The whole thing is about three inches long. believe it or not, that nipple will thread it self into your metal stub out coming out of your heater core like it was made for it. If it makes you feel better, swab your threads with water-pump RTV silicone gasket maker, or equivalent, then, with your water-pump pliers, line it up square, and thread it in slowly. It will fit like a glove! This retro-fit is so popular, a lot of auto parts stores actually keep these "nipples" behind the counter for just such an occasion. I did the same thing on a 1999 1/2 chevy 4x4. That was 8 years ago....and its still in there today.

How do i replace radiator hose connector into firewall for 2004 yukon

If you're talking about where the heater hose connects to the heater core and the metal is corroded away then you'll need to replace the heater core. You don't need any special tools, but it's a time consuming job.

How to install a new heater ore for a 2002 saturn sl

It's a long 7-10 hour job.

Have to remove the dashboard

then remove hoses to heater core
then remove wires going to heater core circuit board
then remove heater core
replace it and put everything back together without messing anything under your dashboard.

Mechanics charge between $700 to $1000 to replace one.

If the core is not leaking (wet passenger side floor) you may want to try a reverse flush before touching anything, remove the 2 hoses in the engine compartment at the firewall leading to the heater core and with a garden hose flood the heater core connector until it the water is clear then do the other connector.

If that don't work and your not sure you can do the replacement correctly don't do it.

Can I get a how-to on replacing the heater core in a 1997 Cadillac deville d'elegance?

It could be difficult, but I'll tell you some of the basic steps. Remove the 2 hoses going to the heater core, they are under the hood, more toward the passenger side back on the firewall, they attach to the heater core right there, pay attention to where each hose goes. You might need a special tool to remove those hoses due to the funny fitting they have on them. What I've done is cut them off and just use regular hose clamps on the hoses later. Now the fun part. Remove the plastic trim under the dash on the passenger's side, remove your glove box if you can to have better access. The heater core is inside a plastic cover, looks like a box, you need to remove the screws and take it apart to get to the heater core. Remove the heater core. Installation is reversed to removal. Do not put all the plastic pieces back till you are sure there is no leaks. Reattach your hoses and check your coolant level. Turn heat on and check for leaks, replace plastic trim and glove box. Done!!

Describe how to bypass a heater core in a 97 Dodge Dakota plz.

Easiest way to bypass a heater core is to disconnect both inlet and outlet hoses at the engine firewall. Install a right angle hose coupling in each hose. Then install a straight piece of hose to connect the two hoses.

Antifreeze leak

I assume the vehicle has a heater in the rear. If so, the problem is probably either the heater core leaking, a hose leaking, or a hose connection leaking. If you want to further investigate and possibly fix yourself, let me know.
