Theres a little tab where the wipers connect to the wiper gear push this down and it should release. sometimes you got to really play with it

I had a new windshield wiper motor installed in my 92 Ford Explorer. Ever since it was installed, the wipers turn off where they are standing straight up on the windshield instead of laying down like they...

Your wiper motor is not for this model or its faulty ,but do check this out and no its not a fancy web site ,now gain access to the motor then disconnect the central drive and then put the wiper arms in the correct position for park now reconnect the drive arm .This is what happens in a lot of modern garages ,they employ 18 yr olds for cheap labour with no skilled supervision ,all these lads want to do is walk around with laptop under arm and clean fingernails .makes my old ticker race just thinking about all this and my ulcer start hurting ,get so much incompetence from garages in within the questions i answer on here .

I can get the old wiper blades off my 2008 avalon but don't know how to put on new ones. do you have to remove something from old blade?

  1. After you have removed the old wiper blade make sure to remove any adapter left behind on the actual wiper arm as the new blade should come with a multi use adapter.
  2. It should just be a bare metal rounded hook bar now.
  3. Now if there is not adapter on the new wiper blade then put the one provided on. Often times the wiper blade comes with this adapter already on the wiper blade.
  4. Pull the wiper arm out a bit and set the new blade under the open section of the wiper arm.
  5. That adapter will have a little play to it.
  6. Push it up a bit so it fits in the slot on the wiper arm and pull up on the wiper blade and the blade should "click" into place.
Do the same for the other side and your good to go. I also recommend Raine X for your windshield. My experience as a mechanic and a storm chaser has proven Rain X to be invaluable in severe weather.

All new replacement windshield wiper blades come with step-by-step, illustrated instructions. Watch the video provided here and then get the new and old wipers in your hands. Once you are right there looking at everything, it will all make sense and be much easier.

The passenger windshield wiper does not work

if you have only one wiper arm moving then your wiper linkage is broken   i get used wiper linkages from the auto recyclers   to remove the old one you have to remove the 2 wiper arms   raise them up and slide the little clip out to hold it upright   either pry or wiggle the arm off  then undo the screws for the grill under the wiper arms while the hood is raised undo the bolt on the wiper motor etc.  replace the part and put everything back together   you may have to try putting the wiper arms on a few times until it doesn't hit the edge of the windshield and retracts down properly   $40 (Canadian) for used parts if you do it yourself  $90 - $130 in new parts  maybe $140 - $200 in parts and labor to have someone else do it

Wipers not wiping

I pretty sure he or she meant the wiper "transmission".
You can purchase a new transmission from the dealer or call a local salvage yard and see if they have one that will fit your vehicle.
I checked on-line and found a new one for $60.
Good luck,
