Brake vaccum pump seal leak

have they said were the leak is, as if it is the connector you can replace the seal for the pipe. failing that you will need a replacement, there are plenty on the market you can choose from, or even get one from a breakers yard for a good price. just remember to flush. out all the old brake fluid after you have fitted the replacement there is a kit you can buy that will push the old fluid out. and then put new fluid in. the kit will help you do this to.

I have a 2006 Dodge Magnum that the engine light is on the trouble code is 0406 any thoughts on what the code stands for or why my engine light is on.

  • Gas sensor re circulation sensor "A" Circuit High.
  • Replace the EGR and the solenoid (come with it) and this will fix the problem.

Had engine light on and running ruff. Had code checked at auto parts store and it shows misfire on clyinder 2. How do I locate cylinder number 2 on a 2004 Chrysler 6 cyl Pacifica

Most front wheel drive V6 chrysler engines are as follows: standing on passenger side of car facing engine, cylinders 1-3-5 are on the left bank, cylinders 2-4-6 on the right. Standing at the hood facing engine (front of car) #2 is on your left front corner of engine. Change / check plugs and wires before doing and deep sensor testing.

X TYPE 2.5 CUTTING OUT. my car has started to cut out it just dies power steering the lot, not nice when on motorway, no code fault showing, any ideas ?

Hi

Normally you would get a code for this but I would still check it out as if the fault is intermitent then you might not get a code.

Check these 3

1 EGR valve, exhaust gas recycler valve
2 air mass or MAF sensor
3 check your air pipes for any holes, poor seals or sucking in too much air, rev the engine while someone stands at the front, you can normally here any excess suction

all these could cause this fault.

Hope this helps, difficult to say without the code but these look likely.

Dan

I have to change my starter, is it too hard for a novice on a 4x4? also, where exactly is it located and what does it look like?

It is not hard for a novice to do it, first you need to remove the lead from the battery so you will not cause a short cut. Than you have to remove the plastic or metal sump cover/guard so you will see your engine from underneath. Usually the starter motor in Japanese cars is situated in front but some have it in the rear of engine. A starter if it is original Denso looks like the one on website http://www.allproducts.com/manufacture98/antony/17-starter_motor-l.jpg. But if it was replaced might look like this http://www.allproducts.com/manufacture98/antony/18-starter_motor-l.jpg. Anyway most of the times 99% the leads are same for all starters so you just need to remove them from the old one, untight it from the block put the new one in, put the leads back on the new starter, make sure everything is tight but not overtighten, than put the leads back on the battery and start your engine:) Remember not to mixup the wires, most of teh times it is not possible because of different sizes but be careful. Good luck

I am hearing a whining noise when I turn the stearing from stand still position. It reminds me of the noise when the wheels are truned all the way to maximum. But, this noise is not there constantly only...

Hi

Have you checked the power steering belt? it may be loose, sometimes when you turn the wheels the engine will move very slightly and cause the belt to squeel.

Get some wd-40 and spray the belt with the engine running then se if it gets any quieter.

It is quite common from a stand still, also check the power steering fluid.

Smoking in second gear

there are only two things that cause this, one and most common is the oil seals on the valve stems and excessive valve guide wear, the other is piston rings, to check this u have to have a cylinder leak-down test run to determine condition of ring seal. How many miles makes a big difference in how you look at this problem, how much oil do you use in a 1000 mile stretch?
