Question about 1995 Buick LeSabre
When i am driving the car will just shut off. i have had the alternator tested and it is good. the battery can be charged but i am not sure how long it can hold the charge b/c i haven't been driving it a lot b/c of the problems that i am having with it. what are some things that can be checked or looked at to try and figure out the problem?
You will want to have the crank sensor checked and check it for spark when this happens. The only problem is that it will need to be in the cut out mode to get a correct diagnosis. You can try and warm up the car and spray the crank sensor with water and see if it cuts out.If it does it is bad. This car has a high failure rate on the crank sensor and the ignition module. But when it is running good the two componats will test good. I've also seen computers just shut off in these cars for no aparent reason. Tuff to nail down in any event. Have it checked for codes and see if it has stored any thing. Let me know and I will try to help you further... Thanks. Dan

Dubeone suggests several good things to check.
I will add checking the speed sensor.
I know of a case where at 35 mph, the sensor was showing 135 mph, while being monitored.
As a precaution, the computer limits the maximum speed to 125 mph, as I recall.
This produced a symptom similar to what is described.
