well based on what your saying about the key turning hard in the lock all the way thing... you may have a bad lock or sending unit in the doorwell based on what your saying about the key turning hard in the lock all the way thing...

A quick fix would be to remove the security systems fuse, disabling it. Assuming this was the only problem and your alright without the security system this is a workable fix.
This is a very common GM problem. The anti theft system that is supposed prevent the theft of your vehicle fails and is now locking you out. Go to this site for info and answers that you can do yourself. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
did you replace the fuse.if so try to get the alarm reset location,it could be in the stupidist place like my pathfinder you have to put the key in the tailgate and turn it to glass side and hold it for 20 seconds.and then hit the hidden reset switch under the rear carpet.
try this, remove the battery cables, leave off for 10-15mins,reconnect,negitive first then positive, if this doesn't do it,replace the P.C.M.you can find one on line cheap and they will program it to your car. hope this helps and good luck to u ..
I Have A Seville 1990, When That Happen To Me I Got The Inginion
Replaced Problem Solved. What Is Happening Is Your Key Has A Chip And That Chip Is A Resister And When The Valve Is Not Sented To The Computer It Disengages the Fuel Pump And Than Tells You To Wait. Soon All That Will Happen Is You Will Get The Wait 3 Mins And It Will Never Start, A Good Locksmith Can Take Care Of This For You And That Will Save You Some Money. Cause If You Go To The Dealer Ouch They Will Hit You Up. But I Asure This Is How It Will Happen Cause It Is How It Happen To Me
And Sorry There Is No By Passing The Computer
Sounds like the passive security system on the key. I've had this happen on a Chevy before. The fix I did was to clean the key with WD40, and to spray WD40 into the ignition switch. Put the key in, turn it a few times, spray WD40 in again. Repeat this process 3 or 4 times.
It cleans the contact points with the key contacts it.
the wire that goes to the ignition to the anti theft device is probably broken if you call a good locksmith they can go in through the steering column and fix it same thing happened to my 95 eldorado apparently cadillac designed the anti theft system to coincide with the ignition and is connected to the ignition with two wires that turn as the key is turned the wires twist and eventually they wear out
