Question about 1994 Chrysler LeBaron

1 Answer

Proportioner valve Never thought slow leak while keeping MC topped off would result in the switch activating. Do you figure the valve has jambed such that even simulating opposite leak will reset it? I have a feeling that this happening after 19 years of operation probably means replace it. Mopar doesn't build the part any longer, but have found one for $160. The Service Manual lists different possibilities by collor "yellow", "tan", etc. I take it they are talking about the exterior color of the unit, though with going back to the 70's, I don't recall seeing anything other than a brass color. Thanks Again....working night shift this week.

What is the exact location to put a valve assembly brake proportioner for a 2000 pontiac grand prix

Just follow the brake line from the rear towards the front and you will find a 2"(approx) fitting,,,,that's the valve,,,,,sometimes the valve/fittings are rusted, and disturbing the line can create a problem

Which brake line goes to which which wheel from the master cylinder?

Not familiar with this model, but most cars have only one output and one return line to/from the master cylinder. The output line usually goes to a proportioner valve downstream from the master cylinder. This valve applies more pressure sooner to the rear wheels, then to the front. This prevents "fishtailing" when braking hard. If you follow the forward-most line away from the master cylinder, you'll probably encounter a block where this line feeds in and two or four lines feed out. That's the proportioner valve.

Oil leaking into cylinder

"leaking into the top of the second cylinder on top of the spark plug wire
only this matter !! cure that.

some engines have spark well. are you saying the wells fill with oil?
if yes, you didnt buy a real valve cover sit, try FELPRO that
comes with the well seals , with kit.
skipping is misfire. if the boots get fill of oil, sure it will misfire, how can it not?

1971 chevy 3/4 truck, front disc and back drums, i lost all brakes. Thought it was the master cylinder because the rear master cylinder port emptied itself of all fluid and no leaks on the rear wheel...

to bleed the brakes & should be done w/proportioning valve in place - you start at farthest corner - right rear, left rear, right front and left front.... If you suspect proportioning valve you can pick them up cheap at any salvage yard.

Looking for the schematics for the 1997 buick lesabre proportioner valve

I don't know why you would need schematics,it goes to the rear and front just distributes hydraulic pressure,if the valve is worn replace it.

Why would my 96 honda civic be burning oil

Is it burning it or leaking it? If it is burning it then it could be caused from worn out valve seals or valve guides or worn out or cracked piston rings. The engine will have to be torn down to fix a problem like this. You may try using a product like motor honey or lucal oil stabalizer to help slow down the oil burning. There is no easy fix for a problem like this unfortunately

Cant bleed out brakes

It takes time, do you know the sequence to bleed the brakes? Most cars r different. And you have to keep pouring brake fluid, That is a two person job. Make sure all lines r connected to MC and not leaking. After a while if nothing comes out MC could be diffective.
