The camshaft inner chains have gold links on them to line up with the mating marks on the camshaft inner sprockets.
The Main Drive Chain has two blue links that line up on the camshaft outer sprocket mating marks and a gold link that lines up with the mating mark on the crankshaft sprocket.

I have a 2000 nissan maxima gle 3.0 do i have to take out the engine to cjange the timong tensioner it has a rattling sound

Larry, normally engines do not have to be taken out to change timing tensioners, the bumper assy., A/C condenser, radiator, etc is removed to get access. Best if you get yourself a manual.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Ihave a 1991 nisan pickup 2.4

Could be a bad chain guide or tensioner.I've got a 85 Nissan 720 4x4 2.4 with a Weber carb.Had her since 1993.It had 108,000 miles on it when I got it.Not long afterwards,Carb went bad,no one could rebuild it,tried 3 places. Finally took to Nissan Dealer, they told me that the carb was a bad design and they could not rebuild, they told me it was junk, they were right, not long afterwards motor went bad,so I got a remanufactured Jasper motor, with 3 year-or 100,000 mile warranty, got it in 2009,I now have 61,000 miles on it with a new Weber carb and it runs awesome, never ever had a timing chain issue, speedo now has 344,000 miles on it.Had the engine installed by a Jasper engine installer,a pro, seems like whoever has been putting timing chains in your engine is clueless on these 2.4 engines, our Nissan's have a history of head gaskets blowing, never timing chain issues. Here is a link on how to replace your Timing chain. Repair Guides Engine Mechanical Timing Chain And Tensioner AutoZone com Here is a photo of mine, need more help, let me know.

97 ford exporer timing issue

There are three engines used in a 97 model. The 4.0 single overhead cam V6 engine uses a timing chain in the front and in the rear, one for each cam. The left side is in the front and the right side is in the back. You would have to take the engine out to access the rear chain.
The 4.0 overhead valve engine and the V8 engine only have one chain in the front.

My aunt has a 97 nissan pick up she said the engine light is on and the belts are noisy. do u think that a nissan with 87000 on it would have a problem with the timing belt or just needs new plugs?

The check engine light is warning the driver the computer has found a problem that will affect engine performance or emissions. The light would not come on for a problem with the timing belt or accessory belts.
87,000 miles is around the time most companies recommend replacing the timing belt.
You would need to have the computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed with troubleshooting the problem or problems.

Where are the timing marks on a 97 maxima

I thought they had a chain.
If it is rattly while running you can change the chain tensioner.
If it has a belt, i'd refer to an "Autodat" book.
