First off, Check for obstuction/s in or around solenoid drive drive rod.Second,if no problem found.clean up and lubricate contact jaws with white lithium grease. and you should be good to go. While you have the grease in your hand LUBRICATE the door strikers too. Hope this cures you ailment

I have a 97 centry and I locked the keys in the trunk and I had to remove the whole back seat. there are little black tabs on the bottom part that you have to pull out to remove the bottom section. once the bottom is off you will then see two nuts with washers (about 11mm) size undo those and then you will be able to lift the back rest up and take it off, there are some hooks on the top part of the back rest. you will then see some black coating and you will then have to decide if you want to destroy it to get into the back or not i was fortunate enough that i could just stick my hand back in there to retrieve the keys. once you get the keys just do every thing backwards to restore the back seat. good luck!
