I have had the same problem with my 97 Dodge Avenger. It's the speed sensors. If your meters aren't working than it's the output speed sensor. If the meter is working but the car won't shift than it's the input speed sensor.

4 cyl. Auto trans. in limp mode. takin the shift solenoid out to re build it i fnd ripped wires. My question may seem should i re connect the first or cont with the shift solenoi

Unfortunately, you should have gotten the diagnostic codes for the transmission before messing with the shift solenoid. Most of those dodge shift issues are caused by input and output speed sensors.

2002 dodge neon wont shift outta first and speedometer wont work ,already replaced input and output sensors

Maybe the speedometer connection at the transmission might be interfering with the shift lever at the transmission. Not sure if this would apply to the 2002 Neon but on some older model cars I believe it could happen. Just a thought.

My 97 dodge neon speedometer works and then stops working and then works again is something loose I know there isn't a cable and is electronic what is wrong?

i would locate your vehicle speed sensor and check to see if the connection is loose or messed up in some way, and it may be possible that its just ready to be replaced, hope this helps and good luck!

Wont shift out of second, no speedometer, gas gage fluctuates

If the speedometer is not working and the transmission will not shift it is usually caused by a bad vehicle speed sensor. The fuel gauge thing is most likely not related. This is usually cause by a bad fuel level sensor inside the fuel tank.
