Changed ac belt and tensioner but still have intermitten squeaking noise when driving. I bought the tensioner from an auto parts store and not a dealer. Could it be a defective tensioner?

Thanks

i replaced the a/c tensioner and the loud squeakin g is sitll ocurring. with the part i received a tsb # 01139b/c that states the a/c system has liquid slugging caused by a deformed retainer gasket and the compressor needs to be replaced. Is this a recall item?

When should i Change the timing belt

You can pick up a belt depth gauge at a car parts store as a guide line but inspect it for the following: uneven wear, excessive cracking or splitting or smooth in areas, squeaking of the belt. (squeaking does not always mean replace but warrants checking).

Is it possible to adjust the tension of my fan belt?

depending on the engine thats in you vehicle, all newer gm engines run an automatic tensioner. . the tensioners bind up with age and the belt will start to slip and make noise. if you change tyhe tensioner, change the belt at the same time... it doesnt take long for a slipping belt to get a "glaze" on it, and then your truck with its new tensioner might still squeak.

Hi my name is sandy, my 03 nissan altima has a problem with the belt tensioner I went to a auto part and bought one there. didn't work. and then went to the dealer and bought another tensioner, it works...

Hi Sandy

Sounds like the belt is loose, the belt for your ac will be connected to the tensioner. If they have had to change the tensioner then they may have not correctly aligned the belts or even left an engine mount loose. it sounds like a simple fix but get it check at the garage that done the work. at the end of the day you have paid them so make sure they have done the job correctly.

Tension belt

No don't give your money to the dealer. Many parts stores sell the tensioner . Most likely your tensioner is worn out and not tensioning the belt properly.
