The cables and sometimes the hardware for the e brake corrodes and will stick when pushed. With an automatic trans the E brake does not get used often and sticks when you try.

2005 gmc yukon third row latch #1 stuck


There is a cable that connects the handle to the latch, the cables like to break/stretch, sometimes if you look close at the rear of the seat where it attaches to the floor you can see the latch and manually release it with a long screw driver or similar tool.
Cables are avaiable from GM dealer if thats the problem.

Elantra won't start and moves when it's in park


I'm going to say something happened to the cable between the shifter and the transmission. There is a switch on the transmission that prevents you from starting the engine in anything other than park or neutral. The transmission is probably in reverse or drive which would allow it to roll.
Someone would need to check the lever on the trans where the shift cable is attached.

Ford maverik, 1996 2.4 petrol. Breaks failed once, abs activated, pedal didnt toucn floor, but it didnt wanna stop. Abs was working v hard but with little breaking. Would this happend if one of the breaks...


The most common reason would be a bad wheel sensor. the computer may have received a signal that one wheel was locking up and so it keeps releasing brakes until all wheels are spinning at same speed. this can get scary, your braking but car wont stop. have the abs computer scanned for any codes, the codes will tell you where the problem is, lets hope theres a code. otherwise you will need to wait until it gets worse or happens again. good day.

1996 Eagle Vision ESI. When car is off th ebreaks are fine but as soon as you turn the key over the breaks go to the floor. Already blead them. What else can I do?


You may have air in the line. Bleed them some more. If that dosent work then you may have an ABS problem. Or you may have a problem with your brake booster.

Rear break replacement 2005 jetta. How do you release the pressure on the piston that engages the rear breaks so I can install new pads.


those pistons have an internal clutch mechanism the piston has to be turned in while compressing two slots use long needlenose pliers if the tool is not available to you

Will not come out of park. vehicle will crank up can not shift?


Sounds like the park release switch is bad (attached to the break pedal and allows the shifter to come out of park only when break is pressed) You should have a manual release on the floor shifter)

Emergency break pedal stuck to floor, but break is disengaged


sounds like your brake cable has broken or there is something damaged in the pedal assembly.........try pulling on the release handle and move the e-brake pedal back to its off position by hand at the same time.(you may have to tie it in this position to keep it up)If that doesnt work there is a sensor on the pedal assembly that you should be able to bypass by either disconecting the wire(1 wire system) or connecting the two wires together (2 wire system)Especially if your truck is a standard the e-brake is an important safety feature,so if these steps fix the light and dinging problem you should still take the steps to have it repaired.
