This happens a lot, especially in cold weather, or the wiper has gone for long time without being used. The age of the wiper blade also is a factor as the rubber gets old and stiff. I think the only solutions is to replace the wiper blades with new ones.

Try removing blade and reinstalling. I suspect the clip didn't seat properly. (did the same thing myself recently - duh)

Trying to find out where the water pump is located on 2000 ford contour

Your water pump is internal. It will be close to the center of the engine and it will have a pully bolted to it. There should be 4 bolts holding the pully on. remove these 4 bolts and the bolts holding the pump on will be exposed. remove those bolts as well(5-7) of them. And your pump will be free. you may have to use a small flathead screwdriver to pry it out. Be sure not to leave any bearings behind when you remove it. clean entire area with puddy knife or razor blade before installing new one. Install is reverse. Hope this helps.

What size is a 2005 Ford escape rear window wiper

I have a 2002 Escape and they're probably the same. It's a 10" wiper.
(I used a 20" wiper refill and cut it in half)

Any parts store will be able to tell you which one you need, for certain.
Refills are getting rare, but they should have the whole wiper blade available.

I have a 2005 Ford Escape - this past week have noticed exhaust fumes coming in through the heat vents- has been very cold here - could it be something frozen or another problem?

chec the entire exhaust area for leaks or smells--cold will often break worn parts--dont use car till its fixed--carbon monoxide is 200 times stronger than oxygen

How do you change the windsheild wiper so I can replace it

changing the wipe blades is a tough one. Pick the blade up in one hand. In the center of the blade assembly, underneath, there is a button. You'll need a very small screw driver or something small to press the release. push on the release and pull the wiper blade off.

Need to replace rear wiper blade on a 2006 ford escape

These days the entire blade and holder assembly is replaced, not just the blade. The holder separates from the arm.

2002 saturn lw200--wiper blades dont park at bottom of windshied

You need to replace the crank arm on the motor and either replace the bracket under it or bend the tab back up on the bracket so the crank arm can contact it so the wipers stop in the right place.

Rear wiper doesn't press hard enough

I had a similar problem on my Jeep. I tried replacing the blades and it didn't fix anything....just wasted some money. I used WD-40 and still nothing. After 3 winters I decided to try something simple. I put pressure on the base to brace it and tried bending the distal end towards the vehicle. I didn't see it move at all. But it was worth a shot. I turned it on and it contacted perfectly; it operated the way it was when I first got the truck. Good look and I hope this works for you nor is it too late since you posted 2 months ago.
