Yes that is a easy fix. These air suspensions go in these cars and your driving on the ground bouncing all over the road. To repair the original air suspension would could cost $1000 or more-it's just not worth it. Buy at the autoparts store replacment Coil springs for the rear. Disconnect your rear shocks. It's a good idea to replace these too. Jack up the rear of the car and use jack stands. Remove all of the original air suspension, air bags, linkage, air pump lever and disconnect the lines and wires. Install new coil springs and shocks. That's all there is to it.
If you are going to do the job yourself buy a Haynes repair manual for your car and same year at any auto parts store @ Advanced, Autozone. Read the step by step in the manual. I have used these for 40 years with all my vehicles and saved tons of cash in labor costs.
Good luck and thanks for your question and I hope my suggestions help. burdfrenzy

Hey buddy, I would suggest you try Strutmasters better. They have been in business for a while. I sort of had the same situation but I have a ford expedition. They do all kinds of cars there.

They explained to me how the conversion works. I don't have to deal with airbags anymore and it saved me a bunch of money because when I went to the dealer they told me it was going to cost me about 2 grand.

I found them by searching online for a solution and I found them.It was way way cheaper than a dealer. I say give them a try, I would trust them more than anyone else out there to tell you the truth.
I am glad I changed it with them and I don't have to worry about air anymore.

Another neat thing is that they have videos on youtube how to change them. Piece of cake dude.

Their reps are very knowledgeable and explained to me how all this works.

Its and on youtube just put strutmasters. Hope I helped you and good luck.

SOURCE: air suspension went out

All things are possible, it's more how much, not can I these days.
I would contact one or more of the big name auto parts stores and see what shocks and or kits they have to offer.

This way you can decide what solution suits your needs and your budget.

Hope this is of some help.

On a 2000 venture can you take off air shocks and put on reg shocks

Do an Internet search for kits that replace the air ride suspension, they are available from several suppliers I think. You can't just put in regular shocks as the car would set on the ground.

I have a 1999 mercy grand marque, going to Chang the shocks. It ask if I having touring suspension? How do I tell if I do or not?

Probably the difference of regular shocks and air shocks. Look at the rear shocks, if you see a plastic line running to it, It is air. But you don't have to replace them with air, you can put regular ones on it.

are you talking about the air bag suspension system or the shocks themselfs???if your car is on the ground and not staying up it would be the air bag suspension and those can be changed to metal spring suspension. if shocks then the answer is: yes go buy at auto parts.

My rear air sespension has gone bad on my 1998 navigator and I can not afford a new air sespension since they quoted me over $1900 to fix. Can I just put regular shocks on the rear to fix the horrible sag?

Yes you can, But even better yet would be a set of air shocks on there. I had a 92 Grand Marquis that blew out the rear suspension, and I put reg shocks on there, worked great, looked normal, No problem. They wanted $2,000 to fix mine. I said later. But the air shocks, if you have a full load or a sagging problem, you can just get out the compressor and blow them up. Hope this helps.

Air suspension inop.

yes unless u want to change your air suspension to normal. i mean regular shock absorbers. usually the air lines break. or the air bags on the shocks leak air. if one is leaking the other one will never operate normally.

Air suspension motor running

If you have a hole or crack in your airbag the compressor has to work extra hard to try to blow it up (like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it) I would recommend checking out they have some great kits for the Ninety Eight. There kits will eliminate any problems with the suspension. It is a permanent fix. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. And for a very affordable cost. I added the link below so you can check it out.

Hopefully this will help

Good Luck!!!
