Question about 2002 Ford F250 Super Duty SuperCab

Engine dying Latley my engine willoccasionally just die as I'm driving. If I'm going freeway speed it will sometimes self start in a few seconds. If I'm driving at a lower speed I usually have to pull over and wait a minute and then restart it. I don't know if this is related but another problem is that as I'm driving sometimes the radio and the guages will go dead and then resume normal function in a short time.

I would check for some electrical short-circuit that seems to be affecting even the engine. These failures are not easy to spot because they are not present at all times. Start by checking all the wiring specially the spots where they are expose to high heat.

I would also suggest to check the wires from the alternator, a loose connection there will also cause the engine to shutdown and disable the rest of the electronics devices in your car.

Sounds like an electrical problem

It is difficult to diagnose with this few information, it could be an electrical problem, or a problem with faulty injection or dirty injectors.

If the electrical fails along with the engine then it is an electrical problem, can also be a faulty anti theft system cutting off power, eventually disconnect your car alarm if you have one, and see if the problem persists.

2004 Ford Taurus wagon engine dies when first starting in the morning after idling for a several seconds. After it is warmed up this stops but it will continue to die whenever put in reverse. Does the idle...

idle speed is not adjustable on this engine, here is what i do for the probelm.

, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

My 97 jimmy sometimes dies while driving and idling. no lights come on, fuel pump is working, is not overheating. once it dies, it starts up again immediately.

Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

It dies when I hit the brakes, unless I put it in neutral, then dies when I put it in drive (its an automatic).

Engine dies unexpectedly sometimes while driving

hi,i read your problem, for my opinion, maybe camshaft or crankshaft are the possible causes,to make sure, you have to bring the unit to authorized workshop to avoid guessing which part are defective

Engine Light goes on then clicking under dashboard -- engine stalls

could simply be your battery is about to die and the voltage is getting too low.
if the engine light is going on then take it to a mitsubishi dealer and they can read the stored error code.

That could be caused by several things. Is your check engine light on? If it is on it could be due to a number of sensors such as the MAF(mass air flow), MAP(manifold absolute pressure), or EGR(exhaust gas recirculation). However if your check engine light is not on it could be caused by bad plugs and or wires, lack of fuel pressure caused by fauly fuel filter and or fuel pump, or it could be caused by the timing being off a few degree's. Please provide me with the engine size and any work that has been done to that vechile recently to help rule out some of these possibilitys.

Hope this helps for now.
