What you will need.
Ideally when one obtains the LT230, they will want to also make sure to retain the LT-230 shifter linkage and parking brake drum, cable and the frame mounts as well. Some also chose to obtain the center console pieces from a 1988 Range Rover Classic, which used the LT-230 transfer case, and had provisions for a light which would illuminate when the center differential lock is engaged.

You would be better off to just find a rebuilt one, they are really not that expensive. Google it, many places rebuild them. They also offer free tech advice just on 4x4 issues.

Identifying Ford Explorer transfer case - is there a difference between 4405-10 & 4405-12

The number on the case are used to supply replacement parts, so yes thy are different. As to the parts differences in the case only the Ford dealers parts dept can tell you that for sure.

I dont know what kind of transfer case to look for, i dont know what modle my transmission is and transfer case is, i have a 2002 chevrolet silverado 1500HD please getback to me asap !!!!

The transfer case has a label on it with all the info

Trans is should be a 4L60E ,you got the year & can count
the pan bolts & see the pattern

Don't be swapping parts with other peoples junk

If you have trans or transfer problems, keep yours &
fix them.

No such thing as good used parts

I have a 2000 jeep wrangler, 4.0L 6 cyl. what would be the fluid capacities for the transmission and the transfer case?

If you have the automatic trans it takes 3.8 litres of fluid if doing a service with the filter. If you drain the torque converter (usually only on a tranny swap or new install) it takes 4.7 litres if it is the 30RH tranny and 6.4 litres if it is the 32RH tranny (call the dealer with your vin number to find out which one you have).

If you have a manual trans it takes 2.3 litres.

As for the transfer case there are 4 different transfer cases used that year.

NP242 takes 1.4 litres
NP247 and NP249 take 1.6 litres
NP213 takes 1 litre

Again you can call the dealer with your vin to see what transfer case you have if you don't know.

I have a 1997 jeep grand cherokee. it has quadra trac. i want to put a selecta trac transfer case is in. is it just a matter or changing transfer cases?

Possibly, but there may be a difference in the spline count on the coupler you'd need to deal with. There is a lot of info on swaps at that may be helpful to you in that regard.

I have a 1997 Chevy s10 4wd vortex v6. Transmission problems and I would like to swap to a different year transmission. This will be the 4th time it has gone out. Is there another year transmission with a...

nope. 4L60E is what fits and if done correctly, is okay. Check the front transfer case seal. They hardened, crack, cause ATF to drain out of the trans and into the transfer case - and 3/4 clutches fail. 3rd and 4th gears will be gone. Also, a clean cooler is vita.
50% of my business is this GM model, and they work great if done correctly

42re>>aw4 swap

Far s I know it fits...make sure you have the correct torque converter for the unit you want to install. Only thing I'm not positive of is if the transfer case fits but pretty sure it does.Upi may need to change some linkage too. I have a AW4 in my 93 and I know there isn't a different engine configuration.

Different manufacturers, components don't interchange. (if your'e thinking of swapping gears on 4x4 exact gear ratio match must be maintained front and rear or you will destroy the transfer case!)
