Question about 2003 Pontiac Grand Am

1 Answer

I have 2003 grand am with manual windows. The driver's side rolled down a bout an inch then stop. The handle acted as if you was holding on to a piece of rope, then let go. I managed to roll it back up. The window crank itself will roll down and up as normal now, but the glass itself won't roll down or up. So is the belt broke or jumped track? and how fix it.

How do I remove rear door panel on a 2003 grand am Pontiac

Before you start, roll down the window, take off the inside door handle (Phillips screws) gently pry it out, and any other switches, (watching the wiring) Disconnect the wire connectors. Starting at the bottom, look for any screws holding on the door panel. (none usually) Plastic clips behind the panel hold it to the door. Pop the panel off gently using a flat screwdriver (or if you can get a hold of the right tool) Pop the panel off 1 plastic clip at a time. When all the clips & screws are out, shimmy the handle through the opening on the panel & lift it off the side of the car. Wallah!

The driver side window in my 1988 ford ranger will not roll down. Its manual. What's the problem and how should I fix it???

Remove the clips in the inside of the window handle, also clips on door handle.Look for any screws holding the door panel on, then take a screwdriver and pry the door panel away from the door. re install the window handle, and try rolling the window down. You will probably see what is stopping it. If it looks like the window regulator is worn out, check the local junk yards for a replacement.

Hello, I have a 2003 pontiac grand prix and the driver side window will not roll back up. I just wanted to know is there a problem with the modem or is there something else wrong with it thank you

If it rolled down OK then it is most likely the switch. The reason that it would go down and not up is because more electric current is required to roll it up and thus the 'up' part of the switch will burn out before 'down'. If you replace the switch then it should solve your issue. Power windows are both a blessing and a curse it seems. Hope this helps!

The electric windows in my 1999 Toyota Camry will go down, but struggle to go up and will stop altogether after about 2-6 inches of lift. I can push them up with my hand while holding the power switch in...

I would try to lubtcate the rubber tracks that the window slides up and down in. Sometimes, dirt gets into the tracks, and the dirt acts like brakes. Get some 100% SILICONE SPRAY, and spray the rubber slides real good. See if that helps.

Passenger window on 94 lumina van

If all the other windows work when the passenger window won't move (during the 5 min period), then the passenger side motor is bad. If the motor pulls too much amperage, the circuit breaker that is built into the motor will trip, until it cools down.
