Question about Renault Fuego

2 Answers

Thebolts/screws that hold the sliding track are causing a problem as we unable to find amethod to undo the rear scews. the front fastenings were 6mm star shaped screws, but the rear ones obviously act as stops and look like a round nob with a wing on each side. The width of this fitting is greater than the widthof the u section of the track,so how can we remove this fastening to allow us to remove the seats

seats have been slid forwardto expose these fastenings that hold the rear of the bottom track, its this fastening that we are unable to undo to remove the seats.

need to remove the front seats from a 1983 classic renault fuego coupe. 4 fastenings hold the seat track in place, the front two are 6mm star shaped screws that were no problem to remove.the seats are then slid forward to expose the fastenings that hold the rear of the track to the floor. these have a protruding round knob with 2 flat pieces attached[like wings] that hold the track and i suspect act as a seat stop, plus the width of this is greater than the width of the u section of the track therefore it cannot be turnedby locking onto the protruding round. it has us and several mechanics bluffed, can anyone supply the answer?

How do you replace the window regulator and motor on the driver front side on 98 dodge grand caravan

Remove the two Phillips head screws that hold in the power master switch in the door. Gently pry it upward. Push the red clips aside on the plugs and squeeze the release on the plug and pull them off. Remove the screws from inside the door panel. Lift the panel up and away. Peel back the plastic to reveal the inner door. Duct tape the window over the upper frame a few times to keep in up. Peer inside the door for two metal clips that hold the regulator to the window and slide them out. Unbolt the front and rear vertical tracks that slide the window up and down. Take out the three torx head bolts that come through the door and hold the motor in place. Check tor plastic anchors (ribbed pointy things) that hold the cables (from making noise) going from the front and rear vertical tracks. Twist and wiggle the tracks and motor out the hole at the bottom rear of the door. It's a little stubborn to finagle out, but it'll come. Patience will overcome.

Dual gate Hurst shifter adjustment

Hello! Here is what I was able to track down:

Hurst Dual Gate Shifter Assembly Parts Breakdown:

c73f4fe.gif

Removing & Replacing The Hurst Dual/Gate
1. Disconnect car battery.

2. Remove Knob. Remove four Phillips head screws that hold escutcheon plate down to console.
NOTE: SHORT SCREW IS USED IN REAR RIGHT - HAND HOLE. Remove escutcheon plate and console from floor tunnel.

3. Lift selector indicator lamp housing out of shifter and pull bulb socket out of lamp housing. Disconnect wire connectors from combination Back - up light / Neutral safety switch.

4. Remove two 1/4 - 20 x 1/2 hex-head cap screws that fasten Dual / Gate shifter to rear mounting bracket. Remove 1/4 - 20 x 1/2 hex - head cap screw that holds cable bracket to shifter frame. Remove two #10 - 32 x 3/8 slotted head cap screws that fasten Dual / Gate shifter to front bracket. Free shifter from cable by removing cotter pin and washer.

5. Remove combination Neutral - safety / and Back - up light switch. Install switch on Replacement unit.

6. Install replacement shifter unit in reverse order of removal of original unit.

7. ADJUST CABLE: SEE FIGURE 1 (Below)
Loosen nut that fastens cable pin to transmission control arm. Loosen nut enough to allow pin to slide in the slot in the arm. Turn the arm to NEUTRAL position. Move the stick to NEUTRAL. Tighten the adjusting nut. Test movement of stick and check to be sure that stick positions agree with transmission control operation.

8. SEE FIGURE 2 (Below)
Connect car battery. Apply hand brake. Move stick to NEUTR AL position. Press foot on brake pedal. Start engine. If starter fails to operate, Neutral Safety switch must be adjusted. Adjustment is made with a long-bladed Phillips screwdriver through the "Street" gate. This screw is directly in front of the st ick. Turn the screw about 1/2 turn past the point where starter operates. (STICK MUST REMAIN IN "NEUTRAL" WHILE ADJUSTMENT IS MADE). Starter should operate ONLY when stick is in PARK or NEUTRAL position.

2002 dodge grand caravan sport side window fell off the track

Front door, or sliding? There are several screws around the outer edge of the sliding door panel, then pry or pull the panel off, there are push type fasteners. Do this in a warm area, plastic may break when cold. The front door is a little more dificult, but doable if you have to. Let me know if this helps.

Buick LeSabre left front window will not close

Don it. Good half day for amateur. Get Chilton 86-99 Bonneville, 88, Lesabre manuel.. Tricky to find bolts are under end flaps on door close handgrips. Took me a day to figure that one out. Others under light at lip of back of door. Book indicates to strart with window 3/4 up if you can. Flip up window control at rear of panel. After all screws are out raise outer edge of armrest and look for notches 4" and 11-1/2" from rear of armrest to slide inward to remove. There are screws under the door handle too. Screws everwhere. When pulling bottom of panel from door lift with a notched bar to avoid tearing the fasteners out of the cardboard panel. Two screws behind seatbelt notch at top need to come out to allow positioning the glass. The panel at the bottom of the top opening can be removed for more fredom in positioning the glass when reinserting the ball in the lower track on the window. Tape glass with duct tape to keep it from falling. Drill the factory rivets that hold the old regulator and I replaced with stove bolts with nylon locknuts slotted head to the inside the car. Can't remember the size, probably 1/4 or 3/16". Remove speaker if in front bottom of door to use your hand to do work in the door. You must twist the regulator forward with window 1/2 down to remove the ball from the socket in the bottom sliding metal track at the bottom of the window. Don't drop the window after removing the socket, tape it in place. Don't know what you do if you cannot move it to 1/2 up position. By the way, the body shops say you must use rivets, not screws or it will shift, but I have had no problems with the screws for reinstallation several years old. The rivet they use take a big hydraulic pop rivet gun that you won't have. Good luck, I don't envy you. Need to do other window on my 91. The window control may not be the same on the Custom, mine is the Ltd. you may be able to remove the motor from the regulator in the door without removing the regulator if you can figure out how to get the bolts that hold the moter to the regulator. inside the door.

Cam shaft sensor

there should be a right angle sensor on the right hand side of the vanos unit [im picking it's a vanos] and you are standing in front of the car. get a 5mm maybe 6mm allen key and undo the single bolt holding it to the engine. it sholuld slide out easily. then follow the lead under the intake manifold & unplug, can be a bit of a pain to get to but is possible. then install new sensor in reverse order.
