I would check that the teeth on the flywheel? flex plate have not been worn off. after tearing up 5 starter motors i would say that is your problem
this could be caused by first replacement starter ,not matching correct number of teeth to match flywheel

Howm I Put in time 04 honda civic hybrid 1.3L 5 speed?

Did the old belt break? If so, check to see if the valves are bent. If this isn't the issue, 1 tooth off will keep it from starting, the cam marks have to be aligned with the alignment marks on the head.

92 honda civic hatchback new starter spins does not engage flywheel, could it be a fuse

unlikely as the motor spins. It appears that the motore solenoid is allowing the motor to spin before engaging the teeth in the ring gear. ON a lot of starters the pivot pin is adjustable to allow for correct engagement.Remove the starter and check that the solenoid is fact connected to the clutch part of the starter. Check that you have the correct starter for the engine

I HAVE A 1998 HONDA CIVIC EX N NEED TO REPLACE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW I CAN THIS THNAK

Disconnect the negative battery cable, unplug the smal wire from the starter, remove the nut that holds the large wire to the starter. Remove the two bolts that hold the starter to the transmission. It's a pretty simple job and only requires basic hand tools.

i have a 1992 honda civic hatchback with an 1995 single head vtec motor. the problem with my car is when i go and try to start the car it wont start up right away. instead it makes a clicking noise everytime i step on the clutch and turn the key. my honda is a 5 speed... sometimes it starts up right away but also sometimes it just seems like after 10 to 15 clicks the car still havent started yet. all the lights and everything else comes on fine from what i can see... what else can be the problem or anything that i can do very soon without spending any or alot of money yet???

Sounds like a starter. next time it does it try to tap on starter with screw driver handle or hammer handle just a couple taps then try to restart car if starts then starter is going.

Wont start

Troubleshoot:
1. Battery - Have voltage?
2. Cables to battery and starter - Good connections? Corroded?
3. Control power - Does the ignition switch and/or dash have power?
4. If the starter turns over, is it engaging? - (replace starter if not)
5. Are all your relays working? (Try switching them around if you have two of the same kind - They probably will not fit in if the're different)

Beyond that it could be a serious problem.
