Can I ask where are you getting the starter from? is it the right size for you car. I had a 96 Taurus and only had to mine once. Lost mine a few years ago in the hurricane( live in New Orleans). ford has several different starters for the Taurus depending on engine size. Call your dealership to find out what starter you need. Your local auto parts store then can get you the right one. You can change this yourself. It takes about 45 minutes for a beginner. If you want to change it yourself. I'm here to tell you how. its just a ratchet, extensions, sockets, and a couple of wrenches. that's all, oh, and a little elbow grease.

Why is battery draining ford 2002 Taurus SES

Remove negative cable from battery, connect a test light to negative terminal, opposite end off light to negative battery post. ( let sit for 3 to 5 minutes). Then start pulling fuses, when the light goes out that's your bad circuit. God-Bless! Its worth a try.

Ford taurus air compressor

Ask if the system was checked for leaks. Not just die checked but by actually hooking up gauges and watching. The system could be pulling in air ( and moisture) after being shut down. This is unlikely. But when you eliminate the obvious you have to start looking at the unlikely.

What is draining my car battery?

sounds like perhaps it is time to purchase a newer car and let that one find a new home . our daughter had a problem like this and after much expense was told to unhook every thing electrical she could . ended up being the radio/stereo in the trunk.

I have a 1999 jeep cherokee and within the past 3 months have had 3 starters put on...the 1st two lasting approximately 2 - 3 weeks each...This morning got up did not start; mechanic put on new starter...

Sounds like an intermittent ground problem.
Sometimes those two mounting bolts don't
provide a good ground path to the starter and
an extermal ground has to be connected between
one of the starter mounting screws and a chassis
point that has direct connection to the battery ground.
ALL connection surfaces have to be clean and void
of any paint, grease etc., to get a good ground....Ray

Ford Contour apparently starves for gas, dies.

tell your mechanic to replace the fuel filter. This part is usually less than $10. It should be replaced aout every 50K miles.

2000 s10 Blazer dies very 3-6 weeks for no reason

i would check your ignition system. you would need a meter for this but look for broke or loose connections. if it was a fuel problem i dont think it would just start up after 20 minutes. or you might try your ignition switch. if its shorting or something then ya well it would cut your engine off real quick

Batteries keep dying

A short somewhere. All shorts can lead to fires, so take it to the dealer or go to a mechanic who does electrical work such as a starter shop.

1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Alternator issues?

have the alternator regulator and diodes tested. sometimes when the regulators fail they allow ac voltage to go to the battery. ac voltage doesn't charge the battery properly (causes it to deep cycle and shortens its life) and causes all sorts of funny problems with the car. also make sure the battery is secured properly, vibration isn't good for them at all.
