Red is switched 12 volts (+) off the ignition switch or other switched source.
Yellow is for the Tach's internal light, it should be hooked to the Headlight Switch dash light dimmer control.
Blue and the Black are both grounds (-), you can twist those together and ground them to the same point.
Green goes to the Negative (-) side of the ignition coil.

This information came from a how to guide to install a RAC brand tachometer.

Then all connections need to reverse, (+) is now (-)

Look I checked up on this further, it is not recommended that this tachometer be used on a positive ground system like Ford once used. So please do this at the risk of burning out the trash. Can you just call me at home please. 925-577-7157

    OK here goes

Red will be hooked to the chassis of the car

Yellow to the Chassis of the car

Black to to head light switch

Blue to dash dimmer control switch or just the Headlight switch if that is easier, so when the headlights are on the Tach will be lighted as well.

Green still goes to the side of the coil marked negative.

You are lucky I am 62 and remember this information, all my friends converted their Ford positive ground cars and trucks to conventional Negative ground, would suggest you do the same.

    Oops, one correction

The Black goes to any switched power source like the ignition switch.

I got a ford aspire and a pioneer radio how do i hook it up

It is best to buy a connector pigtail for Ford, but you can wire directly using the below color code for the factory wiring. use the color code from the pioneer to match to the factory wires. If you have more questions, please reply.

Install aftermarket tachometer

I'll take a stab at this, there's better than a 50-50 chance, and you can do no damage if the first try is wrong. Red is +12 volts and Black is chassis ground. that's a given. I would try Blue to coil pack "Tach" terminal, and Green for the dashlight. If I am right about the Blue and Green, a 9-volt battery from Green to Black will light the light if it's not burned out. If the Green doesn't light it, try the Blue, but my bets on the Green. If the Blue doesn't light it either, the bulb is toast.
