Question about 2006 Ford F-150

2 Answers

2006 Ford F-150 4wd pickup starts vibrating at about 55mph. Not in the steering wheel, but in the body sort of toward the rear. Vibrating stops if I slow down or exceed 60mph. Any ideas?

This sound like a very typical indication of a bad rear universal joint on the driveshaft.

Sounds like a wheel out of balance. If just started it might have thrown a wheel weight. Another possibility could be universal joint(s) in driveshaft they can give similar symptom.

Vibration in dash of 2005 ford focus

Is it the dash vibrating or is because of wheel vibration? Generally the dash is pretty sturdy and unless its been in a major prang and the panel beaters have missed putting some of the screws back, it shouldn't vibrate. If the vibration starts at a certain speed and the steering wheel vibrates too, I would say its a wheel balance problem. Any Tyre place should be able to rebalance the wheels and sort this out for you. There is a possibility of a drive shaft vibration but im not sure how you check that out. If it is the dash, then good luck... There are many screws, bolts etc that hold the dash together, You will have to by trial and error , see which one is loose or missing. Before you do anything though, check that nothing is loose and rattling or vibrating in your glove box, ashtray or tissue holder. . There used to be this ad on TV showing a Guy who stripped his entire dashboard down to fix an annoying rattle. When he was looking at the hundred parts or so lying on the driveway, he found a couple of spare coins nuts and bolts rattling around in the ashtray which was the cause of the rattle!

Vibration when going about 40 to 50 miles per hour feels like whole underneath is vibrating

IF you have rear wheel drive then check the u-joints for wear/loose. Check slip joint for wear . Check rear engine mount is in good condition. Check wheel balancing

I purchased a 04 ford focus c max about 3 months ago. I have started to hear a sort of vibrating noise when I am driving along. This stops when I depress the clutch I have also noticed that the stearing...

I would be suspect of bearings or CV joints, but first look at balancing tires. they would be able to tell you if the others are due for repair.

Car shaking and vibrating at 55 mph. and does it again at 65-70.

Hi:
Since your BMW 540 series is a rear wheel drive car, a common cause of that sort of vibration is often the U joints on your drive shaft. The vibration often only shows up and certain speeds.

It isn't a particularly expensive repair, but is something to have checked out!
