Question about 2004 GMC Sierra Denali

Looking at 2005 Denali Pickup to purchase, 1 owner, 30k miles. Seems totally great. Were there any problems with this model that I should be aware of? What is a realistic mpg on the highway? Thanks so much! Diana

They do have problems with the instrument clusters going nuts and not working, I've replaced a computer on one that would start and then die and had one with a bad ground wire causing weird problems. I love them. Fuel mileage? ummm.Bet just say tread lightly

What to expect at 30K scheduled maintence-cost-wise/squeaking

Your owners manual will tell you what things they check and replace. At 30,000 miles the vehicle should still be under warranty, I believe vehicles now days come with 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty. Spark plugs are supposed to last 100,000 mile, so you should be looking at maybe an air filter, fuel filter, transmission fluid and filter, engine oil and filter. Squeaking noise may be brakes. Do you stop hard? Ask for an estimate before you let them attack your car.

Forget an expensive purchase 500 miles away. Are you going there to check it out. Get the VIN # and run it at any GM Dealer and you will know more than it's current owner

Buying a used Freestyle

That's a lot of miles for a 2005. I'm guessing mainly "highway miles"? I would ask about the scheduled maintenance that has been done on it...has it been regular? Oil, transmission, coolant? Tune-up?

You may want to take it to a garage and have them give it the once over. Run an electronic diagnostic. It may cost you $100 or so, but it may be worth it.

Front Springs

I spoke with the Saab dealer whom sold me the springs last March, he told me there is an ongoing problem with many owners having to change springs, I have bought 2 x new springs and had them fitted total costs incl repair of damaged tyre £450, I will not be as originally planning purchasing another Saab, after sales are poor and excuses unacceptable when requested they honour warranty.
