This engine has a surge; AT 35-45mph,it's a bit more prounounced, not as bad, but still there at 60mph. As the tach goes up some, then down, so does the motor, up then back down, etc.Any ideas?

Chevy malibu hesitates to go pass 35 mph, is something wrong with transmission


Is there any check engine lights on ? Could be a bad fuel pump ..starting to go.go to the auto parts store if the engine light is on,and the will tell you what it is.could be a speed sensor on ******.let me know

My service engine light keep coming on once i reach high speeds over 60 mph


Hi,
This is a problem that affects many cars and trucks. Usually it is a matter of a tune up. When the sensor detects that the motor is running rough it tells you to service the engine. On my truck this happens at 55mph and above. I really can't feel or hear any roughness, but there is a slight hesitation. So I get a tune up and that solves the problem.
On my Sentra I get a continuous light due to a gas tank cap that won't quite seal good enough to create the required vacuum for EPA standards. Sometimes replacing the cap will solve this problem.

Putter-shaking-hesitating-light on- slow acceleration-rough ride-check engine/emissions light on-


You can take it to Autozone or O'reillys and they will scan the engine for free. They usually will identify the part that is bad from reading the scanner.
It sounds like the EGR sensor for the emissions and a TPS throttle position sensor for the performance. The rough ride could be a 4x4 control because some of the Lincolns will pump up the air suspension harder for the 4x4 setting.

Runs rough when cruising at 35-40 mph


try pulling off the air breather hose and look inside at the mass air flow sensor,it looks like a wire with a diode hooked to it incase you didnt know,see if there is any fuzz on it,sometimes the air filter will lose small pieces and the mass air flow sensor catches it.If that doesnt work then you may have a fuel problem,weak pressure,causing the mass air flow sensor to read too much air so it tricks the computer to adjust the issue.

2002 1500 rough idle wont go over 35 mph service engine soon


Have you O2 sensors checked out. I have blowen out 2 on the same bank, sounds like the same problem. Check engine light will stay on solid, blink for a while, solid. Surefire way to check is run your finger in the tailpipe after it is cooled down. If it is very black with soot, then it probably is the O2 sensor.
