Ford transit connect I've had experiance with the same problem turned out the turbo needs back pressure from the exhaust pipe witch was blowing/had holes in so when 3000rpm was reached it began to bog down.maybe check your exhaust system or air filter.

Not shifting after 40 mph, could it be something other than tranny issues??

Sounds to me like the car is in limp mode. This happens when the cars computers see something very wrong, and locks the transmission into second gear. This would explain the boggy feeling at take off and the limited speed. You should definitely get your check engine light checked out to see what code is there. Only then can you pursue the problem further.

when the tank gets low on fuel(under 1/4) or less.. the pump, which uses the gas to keep cool, will get hot and start to cavitate(run at slower speeds and cause a severe fuel pressure surge)..the engine will respond accordingly..most will do this as the system gets avoid it and possible premature pump failure, keep the tank at least 1/4 fll..

My car keeps bogging down why?

It is bogging down because you drive in places where the ground is too soft. Stay on firm surfaces and you will be OK.

My jeep starts and runs rough,it wants to stall but keeps running ,like it wants to bog out and keeps bogging?

I had that happen with a '99 Chevy Suburban, it turned out to be the catylatic converts were plugged. Disconnect the exhaust ahead of the "cat" to see if it runs better, just take the pipe(s) loose. Or remove the O2 sensor(s) so the exhaust has somewhere to go. For test purposes only!!!

96 pontiac sunfire bogs down and dies when I apply the gas.

as far as the bogging and dieing,it sounds like the tps.a simple trottle body service would fix that.for your new problem you need to some test before pointing to a salution.start the car and cover your tail pressure builds it push you hand off.a clogged cat will put to much back pressure on the engine.i would un plug the mass air flow sensor and try running the car.this will turn on the check engine light.check your air filtter and plugs.also check your wires.a nother test is a coil strees test.(you have to go to a shop for this)if the car runs ok with no load but spitts and sputters in drive you may have a openning coil.checking with a meter only works if it does not run.last but not least while you at the shop, have them check your timing.a faulty cam sencer will bog the car down with bad timing advancement but not throw a code.
hope this helps, remember to keep it simple, expensive elec. parts are not always the problem
