Hi, have you done a fuel pressure test ,a bad fuel pump or stopped up fuel filter can cause a missfire code. your p0300 is a random missfire code. If you dont have enough fuel pressure to the injectors it will missfire because of not enough fuel . I dont now what your fuel pressure should be because i dont know what engine you have. If have any more question please re post.
Thanks dodge tec

97 caddy codes show cam timing is off causing rough idle. How do I adjust for that?

Code P0300 is not a timing code at all , it is a "Random Engine Misfire" code. Timing is computer controlled and no adjustment is required or provided for by the way. Follow the link for more info on the fault code P0300

Looking for troubleshooting help and ideas on my 4runner.

Recheck timing marks. If either cam or crank off 1 tooth, you will get a misfire at higher speeds as valve timing will be off. You may not notice problems at idle.

Why do I still have a Rough Idle and P0300

I have encountered this before and it was the vacuum supply line from intake to the fuel pressure regulator sucking fuel through regulator. it could also be more serious like intake gaskets

CAR HESITATES WHEN YOU STEP ON ACCELERATOR AND TURNS OFF.

is the mil light on? if on: must pull stored hard codes, also get it over a smog and repair shop so they can test it on the dyno to get more of an accurate diagnostic.
have them test the throttle position sensor, and the noise may be internal vacuum from the intake
